well after seeing that chrono trigger **** in game scene (lol) i'm reminded of a thread i wanted to throw out

So what is your faverite non FF but square made game and add a why if you like, (and this yechnically isn't off topic since square made FF11 :P) and yes enix games qualify also

mine would proberlly have to be Chrono Cross, i just thought it was the most beautiful game ever created, from the lush colorful detailed graphics (by ps1 standards) to the music, to the art and charecters and everything else i just completely fell in love with this game

sure the game was abit rushed, plot hole issues, some can say it bastardized chrono trigger, but i really enjoyed the story for CC i thought they took the rather plain (but very good) story from trigger and just expanded on it a million fold

I'd have to say... Saga Frontier 2... It was just a great game.. Nothing I've ever seen or played, (I'd haven't even played the first Saga Frontier) Of course.. These were the days of SquareSOFT not Square-Enix 6(.'.)9. Rivaling Saga Frontier at the time would also be Front Mission 3.. i loved both these games, and easily put over 300 Hours into both of the games.. I highly suggest people of Tactic/Strategy games play these games ^^

Yeah, baby!

Parasite Eve 1 was absolutely incredible!
Too bad they screwed up and turned Parasite Eve 2 into another Resident Evil. They should have stuck with the original battle style.

(Oh yeah, and baldur's gate was not a square/enix game.. its interplay, so there!!)

Well if I remember right (Im fairly sure it was made by Square). The original Xenogears. Great RPG there. RPG and giants mechs, doesnt get much better.

Squaresoft: OMG!!!!! Do you not remember Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars?! That was my first RPG. I must've played through that game at least 6 times!! >.< It had Final Fantasy tunes from past FF games that were remixed. That game was the best game for the SNES. Mario + Squaresoft= One.Of.The.Best.Games.Ever.

Enix: Grandia 2 was my first Enix game and still my favorite. The music was great and the battle system is fun as hell!

Yea that was definatly a good game. Had some freakishly good graphics for the SNES too.

Chrono trigger. Actually thats my favorite game of all time.

I'm torn actually, as much as I loved Chrono Trigger (and my beloved SNES) I still have to say that one of my favorite games EVER is Secret of Mana, I'm surprised nobody has said this one yet.

I was turned off of the RPG genre in the mid 90's because they turned very repetitive. But it's nice to know that Square can get their feet out of the water every now and then and put out good non-rpg quality games.

I have always been a huge fan of Einhander. The Side-scrolling shooter genre was pretty stale until this little gem came around. I use to play this everyday, and even these days I find a little time to get in a couple levels. It may not have the playtime that other Square/Enix titles do, but the fun factor is through the roof.

I'm also a fan of the ORIGINAL DRAGON WARRIOR. Yeah, that's right. You heard me correctly. 1987. One character. No party members. Fighting one monster at a time. Sub-par plot. Simple. And if you think about it, it pretty much set the standard for Random battles and Turn-based combat.

Yeah, Final Fantasy games are cool and all but there is so much more out there.

Xenogears, had an amazing story that almost rivaled FF-7 (greatest game of all time)and had a great battle system. Plus the anime was a nice changeup.

PS anyone know of a site that has an overview of the story?

A quick google search pulls up http://nisan.leamonde.net/story.html

Not sure how good it is I just glanced over it quick, but a bit of time on google Im sure could pull up more than enough info on the story.

Alright... no one else has said it, so I guess I'll have to be the first to own up to it: Kingdom Hearts. I loved it so much I actually replayed it on hard mode. Alright... begin making fun ;p

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

Nah, man, can't diss Kingdom Hearts! That game was great. Despite the crappy battle system and horrible camera angles!! >.< But, I love playing the game just to see the intro, seeing Leon, Cloud, Sephiroth, and other cameos, and seeing Kairi (She's sooo cute!).

Has that even been released yet? It might've been released in Japan, but not here in the states.

Chrono Trigger has to be my favorite game of all time, I've beaten that game no telling how many times. ^^ I liked chrono cross also, but it lacked the character development that trigger had.

Xenogears, without a doubt. Regardless of whether Final Fantasies were an option or not.
