The Bubble Bernie money making run around - by Moogle Stiltzkin

Quote:
Quest obtained from -> Malene (House, Bastok Markets, I-5)

Details -> A monster that appears near the lighthouse in South Gustaberg has stolen a package addressed to MaleneAsk the adventurer Dalzakk how to lure the beast out, and recover the item.

How to find Bubbly Bernie -> Trade a Quus with the "???" bush behind the Morhen Lighthouse (South Gustaberg, M-10). An Notorious Monster crab called "Bubbly Bernie" will spawn, and when killed, drops a steam clock.

Reward -> 500 gil.

Pre-requisites -> None

Title Received -> Crab Crusher

Repeatable -> Yes

Ok, the above is just the details of where to get this quest, where to find the nm monster with the item to complete it.

The exploit is as follows ....

In Asura server a quu cost 200g. So if you spent a quu for this quest and got the reward that was 500g, you would be earning a 300g profit. That might seem little to you but read on .... sometimes a trickle can turn into a mountai =^-^=;

A stack of quus in the auction house (ah) cost 2000g, this is far cheaper than 200g per quu x 12 = 2400g. This will further increase the profit you get doing this quest 12 times using a stack of quus that is bought cheaper in bulk.

Let's do the math. 12 times doing this quest x 500g quest reward money = 6000g And your investment of a stack of quus is 2000g .... that means you can make a healthy profit of reward - investment = 4000g

If you don't have 2000g to start doing this, you can start with just one quu that cost 200g at ah and start raking in profit little by little till you get 2000g, from which point you can start getting HUGE profit.

It takes 7 times of doing this quest to get you 2100g using quus bought from the ah for 200g a piece by the way.

So, does the 4000g profit appeal to you ? No ? Ok well think of it this way.

Once you've got your profit of 4000g after doing your first stack of quus you bought for 2000g, you can invest that money on 2 stacks of quus.

So 2 quantity x 12 quus per stack = 24 quus = 24 times doing this quest ....

1 stacks = 4000g , 2 stacks = 8000g, 3 stacks = 12,000g, 4 stacks = 16,000g, 5 stacks = 20,000g

12 times , 24 times , 36 times , 48 times , 60 times

Ok now you now the profit figures are great but not so great on time o.O; 60 times back and forth from :-

Malene (House, Bastok Markets, I-5) >> Bastok Mines >> (South Gustaberg, M-10)

Not only is distance a factor but other delays like zoning to other areas + time spent on summoning and fighting Bubbly Bernie.

But never pheer, for mog is here =^-^=; for i have magic up my sleeves to cut the time of the traveling by HALF !

Ok this trick is by using a route called the back alley ways of mog houses .....

You will need to do another quest to get access to the back alley way route to speed up your money making scheme.

Quote:
Quest: To Be Stylish

NPC: Valah Molkot

Location: Bastok Port

Rewards: Ability to exit from any residential area in Bastok.

Walkthrough: Speak with Valah Molkot in front of the residential area in Port Bastok. Her request is for an Amaryllis, or a type of flower. You can accomplish this task by simply purchasing it in Upper Jueno at the shop there, or an auction house. Your reward will be the ability to exit from any residential area in Bastok.

Once you've done this you can use the back alley ways.

This is how it works.

When you go into a mog house, you can then double back and click on the door to exit. It prompts you whether you want to leave usually. But after doing this quest, it also asks you where you would like to exit.

This is how it is works in practice in doing the Bubbly Bernie run around.

Malene (House, Bastok Markets, I-5) >> Bastok Market Mog House >> Bastok Mines Mog House >> (South Gustaberg, M-10)

*Note when coming back from the light house, you do the opposite flow of this route. Use the Bastok Mines Mog House to get to the Bastok Market vice versa following the route and procedures described.

The only difference in going back and forth along this route is where you enter and exit from the Bastok Market Mog house region. There are 2 Mog Houses in the Bastok Market region technically.

When you come from from Bastok Mines Mog House, you exit to the Bastok Market, ok ... then go up the stairs take a right and go pass the metal works and down the flight of stairs going to the left then around the bend and straight to the old lady's house.

After getting the reward, come out of the house and go around the bend. Instead of returning to the Mog House thats past the metal works, just procede up the stairs and go straight down it to a mog house, rather than going right past the bastok metalworks and turning left and going down another flight of stairs.

This might seem insignificant to you, but it cuts down on down time and increases efficiency and thats what matters the most when doing this money making plan.

Whenever you run out of stacks of quus, get more at the Bastok Mines Auction house which is closest to the route when going back and forth.

Well thats basicly the procedure to getting money using this method. However now we will be delving into a even more FASTER way to do this .....

This Bubbly Bernie round around resolves around a white mage/ black mage job oriented class.

This is because you can use warp to go back and forth between getting the steam clock from Bubbly Bernie and giving it to the old lady for your reward. You will getting profit by the fly.

Notes about this repeatable quest money making exploit
===================================

1. You cannot hold more than one steam clock at any one time. Stealing other peoples Bubbly Bernies that they summoned using their 200g quu WILL NOT BENEFIT you as you won't get a steam clock drop if you already have one.

If you steal peoples bubbly bernies in this manner without using your 200g quu, you can get a profit of 500g without any reduction in profit. HOWEVER, this ****** people off and you sure don't want the attention because this will slow you down and get you in all sorts of trouble.

2. A lv 11-14 Red mage can beat Bubbly Bernie with some effort, and a lv 11-14 white mage cannot. This is wasting a lot of time fighting bubbly bernie. Just chop if just a few times and get the clock thats it, but don't spend so long on it or whats the point.

I recommend being lv 20+ If your a white mage or black mage, i recommend you be a higher level where you have access to the warp spell ability.

3. On the cliff close to the bush where you give the ???? a quu and also where Bubbly Bernie pops up, you can fish for quus yourself. Use Lug worm bait and a salt fishing rod. Since i have a good carbon and composite rod i use either one. If you catch a stack of quus you get the full 6000g profit rather than 4000g. If prices of quus ever raise up higher to lower your profit, you still can fish for quus without suffering any loss except the convenience of buying quus at the ah and giving a concession of 2000g from your earnings.

4. If you didn't read the quest info, this quest is repeatable don't worry.

5. If somebody gave the ???? bush a quu and Bubbly Bernie pops up, other people must wait until it is killed and it and the name high light fades away before somebody else can use a quu on the ???? bush OR ELSE you will have wasted your 200g quu o_O; so careful.

6. Fishing for quus is ok. Why i don't bother fishing for them is the time you waste fishing for them when you can do this run around quest. You can spend a few hours if you like fishing for quus and stocking them up for later, but i prefer doing it right here right now, so i buy at the ah and you still get a healthy profit. Theres nothing wrong if you opt for one over the other, though i favour buying your quu stacks from ah so you don't further delay.

7. Bubbly Bernie pops up every time you give the ???? bush behind the light house a quu except for the rules i mentioned above in rule number 6. I have done this roughly 60 times and he has always popped up and i have questioned dozens of players in game that do this that also confirm this.

8. Does Bubbly Bernie drop a steam clock every time ? YES. You don't need to be a fancy theif for increase item drop. Bubbly Bernie 100% drops the item every time. He however, only drops it if you don't already have on steam clock in your possesion.

9. When i'm at the bush summoning Bubbly Bernie i check left and right and make sure theres nobody around the bend ready to steal my bubbly bernie away from me, and i advise the same caution to you all.

If there other people around wanting to give the ???? bush a quu be wary. If i know the person and have seen the person doing this a few times already without disturbing me i don't worry about them stealing my bubbly bernie.

I have tested this stealing other peoples bubbly bernie to test the theory. The result -> ****** people off. I gave back the persons steam clock anyway :p cause it was only for testing purposes. Regardless, DO NOT DO THIS ! Don't aggravate your bubbly bernie run around neighbours :P

Take turns giving the ???? bush a quu. Also please don't all try give the bush a quu all at once. Disputes arise from situations like this with people shouting " Hei thats my Bubbly Bernie !!! ".

Last words ->

I've tested this myself and researched on it to the fullest and this was my experience ->

I was leveling none stop and came back to bastok from Jeuno a broke FFXI player >_<;

I started with an initial investment and did the prerequisites to do this quest repeatedly the most optimum way without having to level up a whm/blm and getting warp spells.

The result -> with starting money of 200g ii did this back and forth 60 times with some delays in between restoking and other factors to end up with 20,000 g which i spent 16,000g on an Angler Tunica fishing body armor that +1 to my fishing skill, with roughly 4000g loose change to spare.

Why this is one of the best ways of making money ->

1. Risk Free. Once you've bought the quus at those or lower prices, YOUR RETURN PROFIT IS GURANTEED! It's money waiting to be retrieved by a few back and forth traveling.

2. No hassle with waiting for items to be bought in Ah OR is it necessary to reduce your profits like lowering prices in ah just to get your money now and then. This method you can collect your money at your own time and luxury.

3. I thought it was profitable. I did this once and i delayed for quite a long time, but i believe that with total dedication you can make up to 50,000g IN A DAY ! How do you like them apples :p kupo!

*Yes you high lv players might earning more money in other ways and laughing at this, but this is one of the best methods for low ( lv 15 my rough estimate ) to medium lv players to make money.

4. You can make money + INCREASE YOUR FAME IN BASTOK at the same time ! sounds great don't it.

If your wondering how much fame can repeating quest get you, i have found certain sources of info that point out certain facts.

Ps: this is a small piece of somebody elses post but i can't recall the authors name or where i got it from so bewarned.

Quote:
"After gil-farming numerous times, I realized a pattern that is specific in every city. As of now 1 quest = 1 point of fame in the city, no matter how basic, repeated, or high difficulty the quest may be. which means you can repeat the easiest quest 50 times and have the same fame you would doing only 1 time of 50 different quests. With this in mind, I tested qualifiers with breed in mind. First of all, keep this in mind:

San'Doria: Elvaan
Bastok: Hume/Galkan
Windurst: TaruTaru/Mithra

As a target, i used the ability to do the warp scroll quest in bastok as a fame qualifier, and found some interesting results:

Using Hume or galkans who have a bastok ring (the only breeds who can if they start in bastok), it took 10 completed quests to qualify for warp on the 11th quest. I then tried other breeds starting the game in bastok, each took 15 quests to qualify. Next I took hume/galkan people of other nations: 25 quests. Finally, I used my taru and it took 30 quests to qualify for the same blasted scroll.

So to sum it up:

FAME is equal to:

Quests x 1 : Player of city's breeds, allegiance to that city.
Quests x 1.5: Player not of city's breeds, allegiance to that city.
Quests x 2.5: Player of city's breeds, allegiance to a different city.
Quests x 3: Player not of city's breeds, allegiance to a different city.

Keep this in mind, if you want fast results in fame!"

Other notes ->

This info is my own except for some i refered to jog some pieces of info like names and cordinates to make a proper guide. I made this guide to help poor newbies like me and others to get those shiny new toys they always wanted that all those rich autofishing cheaters like to show off ~_~: grrr....

To people who think i gave away a nice money making secret to everyone else, well bah humbug. I believe that those poor people should know how to get money instead of being forced to beg. Even if quu prices rise as a result, fishing for a stack of quu yourself rather than buying from ah gives you a set profit of 6000g a stack.

Anyway that sums up the Bubbly Bernie money making run around by yours sincerely,

Mooglestiltzkin from Asura Server =^-^=;

There's no excuse for buying Quus. With full fishing gear and image support, using a carbon rod and sabiki rig, you can pull up 1-3 Quus at a time in Port Windurst at fishing level 1.

You can pull Quus using lugworms in Port Bastok or Selbina. Can even get them off the Selbina/Mhaura boat. Can get in Mhaura.

Fishing skill 1 is all that's needed.

Save yourself the money.

Fish 'em up.

12 lugworms = 132 or 144 gil (or 108 gil if buy on the boat)

If you're unlucky won't get more then 1 quus for those 12, but that's still cheaper then 200 at AH (was at one point 500 at AH on Phoenix).

And fishing them up yourself is a nice way to get fishing skill.

Also, at that skill level and bait, you'll fish up Bastore Sardine. Which can be turned in for 70 gil each in the "Somethings Fishy" quest in Port Windurst.

All in all, much more profitable to fish yourself.

^^sure there is an excuse, you will need extra money for bait and the rod + possible rod breaks. at best you could hold 28 stacks of quus (assuming bait + rod and nothing else) actually less because you would need multiple stacks of bait. Therefore you would have to goto windhurst and back 2 times (for 60 runs)(walking would take forever) TELE-MEA + Choco is more money.
Now add to the total time the additional time for all the fishing. Definatley cheaper to just buy the quus, more efficient too. Now im not a fisher so maybe im wrong. please correct me if i am.

Now for a slightly higher lvl BLM to do this make the following changes:
Have Warp.
Set HP to the crystal in markets.
Exit through mog to mines get choco (+70-100 gil)
kill bernie
Warp to HP
Trade the clock
Repeat

To save money you obviously don't have to rent a choco.

Great post though mooglestiltskin << clever name too :)

It's cheaper and more efficient to fish.

12 lugworms costs less then 1 quus at AH.

Spend 2k to get a Glass Fiber rod. It's what I use. It breaks 1 out of 100 (probably more) casts.

I use this thing to fish up everything, currently lvl 11.

It takes longer to fish up your own Quus. But much, much cheaper in the long run.

I have heard of people doing this quest with a party of 3 to cut the time down drastically, but I'm not sure if one person stays to fight and the other 2 run back and forth or what. Worth a try IMO.

Edit-- Don't forget after you trade the clock to get the quest again you have to zone out of Bastok Markets.

hey epoch that's a great idea!! zone in to the town, pass clock to the partner, they take care of turning it in, you take care of another bubbling bernie! they get the fame, you get... more bubbling ernie, both of you get 50-50 split.

good idea about the warp too. but if that's the case, just change jobs real quick, set new HP at the Mog House Exit to Market Zone. Even closer to Malene.

and lugworms were about 7g each at the NPC store...save yourself a few more gil. otherwise sabiki rig is about 2k at AH, catch up to 3 quus at one time in SGustaberg or Port Bastok (dont need to go to Windhurst or Selbina for this). you'll occasionally get bastore sardine also which sell very nicely in a stack. (NOTE: I forgot actually if sabiki rig can catch quus..if not then use lugworm)

wow this thread just turned all the financially-struggling players into some wealthy tycoons. but now bubbling bernie is going to be camped for this 500g drop!! doh!!

You don't need multiple bait of you have a sabiki rig. It's a little bit of an initial investment, but the rig allows you to catch an unlimited (until your line or rod breaks.. doh!) number of fish up to 3 at a time. Quus can be fished anywhere there is salt water, so Port Bastok works too, you don't need to travel to Windurst.

Are you sure it's EX? I think it's just Rare, meaning you can only have one at a time. I thought I heard of people doing the trick with one person waiting at Zone while the other fights Bernie. But I could be wrong.. I might go try this out tonight.. I need some money ;)

Just out of interest, why do you call this scheme an 'exploit'? I am a real stickler for rules and I would not call it that. It IS a repeatable quest. You are just repeating the quest.

The only advantage currently comes (in the original post) from the fact that quus are priced fairly reasonably. If the price of quus rises .. the profit falls or you have to fish up your own quus (which, imho, it just might based on the fact that some people will see their way to make money is on charging more for a commodity everyone suddenly seems to want now that you have publicized this).

Nothing in there sounds like an 'exploit' to me. Exploits have a certain 'connotation' and are usually 'reportable'. Maybe you should change that word so people don't think this is an illegal scheme - since I doubt it is. All people would be doing here would be 'exploiting' a currently available economic market niche, imho.

The only question I have about all this is .. is there only one Bubbly Bernie spawn possible at any given moment. In other words, if I have a quus and you have a quus, can we both spawn him simultaneously? If not, you may have a bunch of people waiting in line for the chance to spawn him .. and catfights may ensue. If so, for people who need or want to do something to raise money and couldn't figure this out for themselves, you have just provided a public service and I am sure they will be eternally grateful to you.

The Steam Clock is simply Rare. It can actually be found on the Auction House market -- though it's unusual to try and sell the thing.

The money you can get from this is nice for levels below 20, when compared to activities such as crystal hunting and craft item hunting. It is perhaps comparable with farming techniques up to level 30, but even then, there are some methods with which it simply cannot compare. It's primary allure is that it's so simple, easy, and relatively risk-free.

Ok, my Bubbly Bernie run around guide is 99% completed. Just a few more tid bits of info before it's everything and everything about it :p

I can't play ffxi until 4 months when i get my 3 month holiday.

I don't recall whether the steam clock can be sold at ah or be given to somebody else.

I also need to research on the fishing of quus at the cliffs near where bubbly bernie spawns.

What i know for certain is i used a carbon rod + lug worms and i was around lv 6 when i caught some quus.

I also caught some sardines so i have yet to identify a full proof way of just only catching quus as of yet.

i hope Istondil or someone else would help me out in this line of information to completing my guide :/

Hm i just loosly said exploit because of the idea of using a repeatable quest in such a manner to make money out of it by deft touches of improvement by speeding up the collecting of steam clock and giving it in for the reward by shortening down time going back and forth and other delaying factors ....

^-^; i hope this helps many newbies in particular.

Heres a deeper exploit:

Before you start, make sure the guy by AH that you use to send stuff to another player, the 8 slots are open

1. Have a blm friend with you.. set your hompoint at bastok mine, tell your blm friend to wait where Bubley Burnie is.

2. go there, use the quu, kill burnie, get steam clock, get warped to hp.

3. go to AH, send the steam clock to yourself.. Head to bubley burnie again

4. repeat..

5. do this up to 8 times. you can have 8 steam clock in your sent box grab one each time and exit through moghouse in market.

HOLY ********* thats great !!! Hei think i could add that into my guide and give you some credits ?

I will have to confirm this for myself * don't know how

Don't have a handy black mage friend lurking about ;( *cry

I didn't realise there was a npc at the bastok market ah that sends items, i only found one in jeuno. Whats the npcs name ;D ?

I'm making a web site that will have info on rare stuff like this ;) There too many ffxi sites so i'll focus on a niche in secret and interesting info =^-^=;

i have a www.trueplayersguild.com domain name that i will use.

I leave the hardcore fishing stuff to Istondil, heh his good at it ;)

And barwulf's cooking and fishing guide are my other favs.

Oh and pikko's gardening guide ;) all hallmark guides imho.

I can understand how your trick works .... it's a way of focusing on stocking up steam clocks with team work of a black mage because they have access to warp 2 to transport others and themselves, whereas whms only have access to warp 1 spells.

So the sending item npc is located in the bastok mines area near the ah ???

With time i can calculate how well this can go ..... instead of running back and forth doing this one by one, you can stock up on steam clocks with that trick then get rewards in bulk !!!! sweet.

moogle...29 warrior, and you really only knew about the Jeuno NPC that sends item!?? good thing you started this thread.

in each of the 3 starting towns and Jeuno, at each AH in each town, has at least 1 NPC that sends items.

the blm abilities are useful but not necessary to do this. again, good post! just dont want someone thinking they can't get benefit when they're not blm (similar to many mages thinking they can't farm b/c they're not melee type..or everyone thinking they wont do well at farming b/c they dont have gil finder/thunter ability)

thnx bluegayle.

I was a super newbie. When i reached Jeuno i accidently stumbled upon the sending npc. I never met one so i learnt how to use it. The first time i used it was to repay a friend the money i owed him for the lizard armor he sold me.

I never noticed there was one back in bastok where i hang out a lot heh ;) anyway i'll keep my eyes open.

Yeah, i guess whm and blms aren't necessary for the job but i do get the feeling that when your out and you want to make some money, then you should change to a whm or blm to do this.

:/ it's like this feeling all the blm/whm with warp are laughing behind my back cause i'm doing things slower than them hm :(

poor lil old low lv i am :(

Oh yeah, i will also have to make lines on the maps to for visual guidance to the people who wish to make money this way.

I'll get right on it now ;) just got to find a clean map i can work with hm ... * shuffles around in his work place

Ok well here's a map showing where bubbly bernie is located and other info thats on a web site i didn't make

http://ls-eternalforce.net/en/html/karte/monstrum/index.html

Check for Bubbly Bernie in the Gustaberg >> South Gustaberg region. Theres a screen shot of Bubbly Bernie the Notorious Monster + it's coordinates + what it drops and info on what lv job character you must be to defeat it.

Other info i need to find out to make this guide complete is checking out the minimum lv and for what job class that is able to beat bubbly bernie.

I've had to save some low lv players who tried taking on bubbly bernie at too low lvs :/

Ps: at coordinates H-8 is Gawful that does the Delivery service in bastok mines area.

Ok i made a few maps for routes to follow.

Red means going to bubbly bernie to get the steam clock.

Blue is returning back to the old lady with steam clock to collect your reward.

The greyed out patch is where i notice white mages and black mages use their warp. After getting the steam clock and after they've given it in for a reward. Those are the 2 times that i've seen them use warp.

I have no experience warping what so ever but this is my exp from watching others do it.

ps: the route is bastok market >> bastok Mines >> South Gustaberg

You can follow the stacking steam clock trick, but i didn't plot the course because i have yet to test this. But looking at the map it's pretty obvious if you follow the instructions.

Wait... so you actually need to zone everytime you kill Bernie? If so, that's insane, especially looking at all the zoning you need to do, even with a Mog house backalley exit.

Give me details on how much you make typically an hour.

I can kill Bernie between 8-10 times an hour depending on how fast i feel like being and how many other people are doing it.

And i don't use warp.

500 a pop, that's 4000 gil

Not bad for an hour's time.

That plan with the sending items sure sounds nice, but it doesn't work. You can only have one of that type Rare item at any at a time PERIOD. In your Mog house, your delivery box, AH, person it doesn't matter. You can easily know this when you won't even have a Key in your inventory (its in your mog house) and you aren't able to get the key from an additional drop. It sure would be nice if that worked but I am afraid it won't. Plus, the guy is right by the MH exit, why not just take it to him and be done with the quest? ^^;

The best thing to do is have one person kill it, trade it at the enterance to mines, and have the other go give the item and get gill etc. Then switch roles halfway where the other person kills it and you go get the gil or whatever.

No just have one guy zone in to South Gustaberg, then he can cast lots on it and not have to walk all the way. Then he could send it via the guy at the AH to a guy waiting in/near his house in the Markets, and the third guy takes it to Marlene. Ok I make this sound confusing, sorry.

One more thing... you can only hold one of these. If you are solo and fight Bernie while you have a steam clock already, then he won't even drop one. Nice thing about having a partner or 2 is the walking is cut down to like 20%.

So are you saying hccmike's steam clock sending to yourself doesn't work ? Anybody tried this ???

All i definately know is that you can't have more then 1 steam clock at any one time.

What i don't know if hccmike's exploit works :/

As for having 2-3 people all in one party and following this format

1 kills bernie, one at the bastok mines lots for it and sends to via npc to the 3rd person who picks it up at the mog house at bastok market and goes give it to the lady for the prize ....

:/ not sure if this would work anot. Lots of trouble dividing a cut 3 ways. Your getting like 100g per quu now cause your sharing 3 ways, only difference is the time that it takes to do this.

Maybe if you solo with a warping character you could gain more for yourself and be just as fast :/ hm ...

8-10 times? Lets say 8, that means you can pull one off every 7 mins, despite all the running, zoning, and fighting? I find this a bit hard to believe. Even if you can do 10, there are MUCH better and faster way for a 31 level char to make gil than this. If this was for a level 10 or so, then i would understand, but even a level 10 can make this kind of cash an hour without having to do all this zoning back and forth.

well say i'm selling my scale armor for 2400 gil at the ah in bastok.

Get a stack of quus and go back and forth doing this 12 times and you get 4000g profit.

sure money + low risk + high gain if your willing to get it

100,000 gil is my theory of what you can earn in a day doing this.

Yes, extremely high levels of players and high lv craft skill users probably can earn more, but they will be gaining it by selling in ah and thats a lot of waiting and sometimes you need to lower your prices plus you need to be those certain high levels to get lots of money.

My way is a sure and proven way that lv 20+ users i reckon can do.

Yeah at first i thought 300 profit per run isn't that big a profit so why i should i suffer.

I did this 60 times to raise 18,000 g roughly and i managed to buy my angler tunica fishing gear body armor.

That is the result.

If not i'd still have had 200g in my pocket and no way of raising that sort of money with my craft skill or my level to do those fire ring arena thingys.

I've killed bernie a few times, but repeating this quest for a whole stack of quus it gets old real fast. Regardless of whether there are more efficient ways to make money or not, there are certainly more fun ones. Still, it's nice that you've gone to such effort and detail to help folks Moogle, so I'm rating you up.

just dont want someone thinking they can't get benefit when they're not blm (similar to many mages thinking they can't farm b/c they're not melee type..or everyone thinking they wont do well at farming b/c they dont have gil finder/thunter ability)

EDIT: I just re-read my post and it sounds like I am picking a fight. I am not. I have not been effective at farming as a WHM and I want to know what you think I should do differently.

Ok, I have tried farming as a WHM at level 33. It's just not working. Banishga kills level 1 mobs in one shot. Sooo, I used dia to gather about 20 rabbits and hares in Wron. Then Banishga the lot of them. I got 1 stinking rabbit hide. Rinse, repeat, got 1 hare meat and one rabbit hide.

Then I change my job to level 1 thief. I kill 20 rabbits in a row, and I get end up with 10 rabbit hides and 2 hare meat. This is without treasure hunter.

Please explain to me how a WHM can farm effectively? My tests all show that if you are high enough above the mobs to kill them with any speed, they don't drop much. At level 33 it takes me a good 3 minutes to kill an "easy". So farming crystals that way is a loser.
