Check out S-E's new feature for POL. Basically, it lets you log into your POL account through your web-browser. Why would you want to do this? Well, you can check your friendlist and actually send and recieve messages from your browser. So, if you're at work like I am and can't use POL or FFXI, you can still chat with your buddies who are IN game.
Long gone are the days that if your friend was playing online he was unavailable unless you logged in too :) This is still in beta, but I had no problems using it. Go to the
POL page and look for the POL Plus button on the left bar, beneath all the FFXI stuff.

Somehow I don't think people will be talking about this and other PlayOnline Plus services when the beta is over. Obviously SE plans on charging for these services, hence the "Plus" in PlayOnline "Plus" and Friend List "Plus." Even at a dollar a month, I lose a mule character. Now, if we could do AH/Mog House business via the web, that's something I'd pay for. Twice in the last month I've planted seeds to only have them die because I couldn't get to my Mog House in time.

Hi, this is SE. We know POL sucks and is totally unnecasary for PC users. So our soulution is to expand it and charge for use of the expansion. Have a nice day.
actually the friends list plus is going to be free i believe, only the playonline plus is going to charge extra.
