Is this starting to feel like a job to you?Follow

Going from Qufim, to Kahzahm, to the Citadel has been one adventure after another. But it's been so much work. I liked Kahzam well enough, but once I hit level 33, I was too high to PT with anyone, so it was off to the Citadel.

What an uptight place that is. Hard to find a party, and if it's not balanced perfectly, all the mages drain their MP too quickly and the fights are too long. Our parties kept breaking up, and bats would link, and it was just an ugly place.

So, I left the Citadel on a quest to get money for the scrolls I need, since I've been leveling so quickly. I decided to play in the Dunes, since a bunch of my scrolls are for sale in Selbina. What a blast!!!! I can kill everything there! The gobs drop good stuff and gil. I helped save some people when their hp was getting low. Made some new friends and things were so much easier. It was like taking a hard earned vacation. I was playing on my own terms and it was very nice.

SO.... take a vacation every once in awhile! Kill the things with ease that used to haunt your dreams. Help your fellow players so you can feel good about yourself knowing you've done some good deeds. It's not always about the next level up, and getting 200 exp per kill. Sometimes you can actually have fun.

Well I could never have a game feel like a job for me, because if it ever did I would just take a break away from it. And then when i felt the urge to play it again I would go have some fun. IMO people that find it to start feeling as if playing was a job are the ones that do the same thing over and over. Like u said just getting to the next lvl. I have mixed up doing missions and quests, partying, collecting items to sell, trying to get my tradeskill up, helping friends that get the game get used to it and give them tips, and the occasional do nothing but run around and look at scenery haha.

Amen to Loralei

I am up to 42 Paladin right now and was burnt out. Took a little time off to farm, quest, help some of the newer people. Its a gratifying feeling helping some lvl 18+ get their skull or clear the trains at Selbina or Delkfutt. It also tends to be profitable to help and farm at same time. I got a scroll of Escape from a banshee I made quick work of while helping out in Qufim. Remember as of now you can only get to lvl 75 so why rush to get there. Have fun and enjoy all the avenues of the game.

Amen.. I haven't xp'ed in kazham or the citadel yet.. I went straight to advanced jobs at 30.. so I'm back to qufim now to get to 25 or so...

But I have taken several breaks since the push to 30. Hunting nm's, synthing, doing quests, etc.. leveling multiple subs up.. but helping people is one that is rewarding! :)

That's the best part of this game, you can level a subjob or just help out some lower level people when you get tired of the experience grind. I take time to help a few friends level up subjobs whenever im not up for an experience party, and usually i end up helping others nearby too.

i think helping others out is the more rewarding part of leveling. Especially those that are genuinly appreciative rather than the type of person that expects people to help them.

I took off a week for fishing after getting to level 24 ... definately felt better. I spent all the Gil i made though :p

After that ... I have almost a full set of fishing gear to show, a mithran fishing rod, a set of beetle gear and a Windy Knife O.O

I almost killed myself leveling WAR to 30. Then, I slowed wayyyyy down once I got DRG. Now, I'm taking about a week off to just make lots and lots of money. I've saved many people's lives, and since I ask them to disengage instead of Calling For Help, I get to keep farming while I'm at it. I took up fishing last night, but I really didn't get a good chance to because I only had about 20 minutes. Today I have a lot more time, so... whee!
