Easy way to get some extra conquest points.Follow

As you may know: you can trade your crystals to guards for Rank points. Most people don't actually do that, because crystals are worth more for crafting and cash, but there are certain times when they can be worth conquest points.

As you draw closer to maxing out your rank meter for each rank, save up or buy some cheap earth or water crystals. When your rank meter is just a sliver from being full, got to the guard and *fill* the trade window with stacks of crystals (I typically do this with earth crystals, which only set me back about 300gil per stack). A few of the crystals will be used to max out your rank, and "the extra [will] be added to your Conquest Points." I tend to get 500+ points doing this, and it doesn't cost you much if you've been holding on to your crap crystals.

If you attempt to give a guard crystals when your rank meter is full, he'll just give them back. So get as close to rank as possible before you drop your load on the guard.

It only fills the rank meter until you're very close to filling it, as Averoth said. Only when you give an excess do you get CP.
