To all the japanese speaking people, What does the word Yukikaze mean? I know there's a new anime/old book with the name. What exactly does it mean?!

It means, roughly translated - "Flying monkey death trap".

Ok, after whipping out my rather poor Japanese English dictionary I actually managed to find the following (normally I can't find anything I need in it)

Yuki - Snow
Kaze - Wind

I'm wondeirng if the two words together mean blizzard.

Hope that's at least a little bit of help.

As Jigen-san correctly said above me, "Yuki" means "Snow" and "Kaze" means "Wind".

In Japanese, "Blizzard" is said "Fubuki" (Blow+Snow) or..."Blizzard" like in English.

I guess the name "Yukikaze" is from the Japanese anime.

"Yuuki" is "valor" or "courage." Most styles of romanization will write this as "yuki." It could be that the word is "snow," but I suspect that it's actually the more common romanization of "yuuki."

Courageous wind? That sounds like a euphamism for what happens after I eat buffalo wings.

There is a Samurai Weapon Skill named Tachi: Yukikaze. And yep, you guessed it, it has the Induration attribute (It's in the "Ice" box).

I would imagine "Snow Wind" would be something like snowstorm or blizzard.

Tachi: Yukikaze is Ice/Wind elemental. I saw a traslation for it as Snowstorm.

The kanji "kaze" is also used as a suffix...which is huu: method, manner, way, style, -like, looking. So I would take it to mean snow-like ^^; The kanji for blizzard (fubuki as mentioned above) doesn't contain the kanji for wind.

As for the romanization...I believe that most romanization styles don't just translate a double u as a single u, it will usually have a line over it...just like the ou sound will be a o with a line over it.

Hope that helps a little.
