Just wondering what peoples thoughts are about how different the game would be.

- No high lvl crafters buying up all our stuff at AH
- No high lvls helping us get advanced jobs
- No high lvls helping us get Summons
- I think this game would be going a lot slower for many of us if it wasn't for the higher lvls, I'm only lvl 40 Ninja on Garuda server and its hard enough to find and get groups together, I can imagine if there were no japanese to party with

- and all of the Trade skill items, we would be having a lot of awful equipment if wasn't for high lvl crafters at the AH

Anyone else got any ideas on this?

It's so much fun to explore the game off the shelf release day, there is no better time. Noone knows anything, everyone is a nub. Musta been fun for the ****. I really hope future expansion are released at the same time in both countries. That would be just as fun. You do entertain a cool thought. Hopeful I'll get to play once where noone is high lvl anything and sucks at everything. :)

Yeah starting from scratch would make things much more difficult.

I wonder what it was like for Asura people. But they werent even starting from scratch there was high lvl ppl going over with already established characters.

To start an economy from scratch would be hella painful.

Ive said it once ill say it again The Japanese are the Bee's Knee's.

Yeah. All the bugs, server crashes, not knowing up from down. Damn, I miss that :P

Come on NotCoach, they were looking at the positive aspects... I think, lol.

Yeah just think how much harder things would be without websites like this. OMG you might actually hafta interact with the people around you and compile your own lists. Oh, that's another downside, I think. Oh well It's a nice idea though, to a point.

Okay okay enough of the double sided comments. Without the higher levels runnin around like they were most of us I'm sure would be still pretty poor.

How many other MMO games have you played from day one of release(granted, this isn't day one, just for us here in NA). No other MMO game released in the US had the success that FFXI did. I tried games like SWG and AO on the first day and wasn't even able to register or create a character.

So not only was this game basicaly bug free and fairly stable, but it immediately immersed you in the game, and had a fully functioning economy and quest system in place. I'm glad that Square Enix was able to do this much with the game in just a year, including the translation and inclusion of the translator function.

Would most of this be possible without the Japanese players? Nope, and I'm happy to be sharing servers with them.

The first week on Asura was great. The prices at the AH were really good and all areas were free of beastmen control so you always received crystals. After that week, everything settled down at the AH and beastmen control kicked in. Paradise was lost. :p

It would have been nice to be on the start of a server where everyone was lv 1. But then again, I can see some reaaaaaal disasters in that. >_<

Yeah you might actually have to explore and earn your own advanced jobs.... my god you might have even had to craft your own items!?

Look, I know it's some sort of unwritten rule that japanese people are superior in these forums. I'm not sure I understand it. However, the north americans could have made their own economy in weeks. You wouldn't have to worry about people mouthing off to you for inspecting them.

People who decide to trade-skills are totally screwed right now because the already-established economy forces their prices down to the point where no profit can be made until max skill.

I'd enjoy a server where my ping isn't through the roof, and everyone I speak to understands english. Call me crazy but such a place sounds like fun. Just think, you might get to play the game the way it was made?!

Oh god..the tought alone of a server where 99% of the people are from the USA... the GM's would have to continiously queue up the (young, probably Counterstrike) l33t players yelling at the n00bs for everything they think they do wrong lol. ;)

If the NA had its own servers.

bad:
1>WHM would charge for raise as a standard. (Sorry guys, but I think a lot of us dun charge for helping those outside of our parties simple because we were helped as new players. It kind of set a precedent.)

2> We would have even more leet speakers and newbie bashers than we do now. (Again, I think the fact that there was a more peaceful game setting in place when we joined curbed that)

3> A lot of the 'Power Levellers' would still be at level 15-20 without the nice High Levs who power levelled them, got all their quest items for them, etc. (Not all of the power gamers, but a decent number got this kind of help.) A lot of our summoners would still be using the radioactive squirrel exclusively as well.

good:
1> I would be able to talk to my party when I found one during non-peak hours for NA.

2> I wouldn't feel jipped by the lag that the overloaded servers sometimes give me.

3> Same as 3 above.

4> We could establish our own economy, with a better chance at the NMs and a more realistic crafting economy. ((Too many high level crafters existing when we joined is one of the things I blame for the bad cost involved in crafting.)

5> My Blist would get used a lot more. I hate having a game feature that sits there and never gets touched.

6> We could actually experience the wonder and majesty of a new world where every road was the road less traveled.

7> Perhaps, but I won't say for sure, their would be a larger RP contingent. I've noticed a lot of people I've met gave up on RP because the character they wanted to RP was declared a weak combination by the high level Japanese players they met when they entered the game.

8> I wouldn't have to see threads about how the Japanese are great or about how the Japanese suck.

Euthenasia,

Couldn't have put it better myself. You take the good with the bad. All in all, I'd love to try out a virgin server that only allowed new characters in it. That'd be a lot of fun. Maybe enix will try this in the future.

When I moved to Asura I hoped it would be mainly low-level players. It didn't take long to see some 60+ players so I immediately knew I was being too optimistic.

If you want to give your blist command some exercise, go to the South Sandoria AH (on Asura at least). I've never put anyone on the blist except for abuse of /shout in that area.

"COME SEE MY BAZZAR, GREAT STUFF FOR SALE CHEAP"
"ANYONE NEED A DEGEN SWORD" (15 times in 5 minutes)
"COME GAMBLE IN FRONT OF AH" (this one resulted in a multi person shoutmatch where people were accusing each other of stealing gil and wanted it back)
