Shouldn'tve got stuck there...Follow

God, I'm proud of myself. I finally made it to Jueno. It's a long walk from Bastok, and that isn't exactly the best adventure for a level 14 thief to take alone. I was going because I want a chocobo liscence. Well, I decided that... maybe I'd level up on the way, so I could reach level 15 before getting there. Well, I didn't do much of that, because I was too busy running away from the monsters. It never really hit me that I should just turn back.

Well, as it were, I'm in Jueno, still lvl 14 but with less exp than I used to have...

And no one will talk to me... O.O

Gwaah, everyone's giving me the cold shoulder and I'm starting to feel really stupid about asking questions, but if I don't ask, I wont get my answers. Waah!

1. Is there anywhere remotely near Jueno that would be okay to level in, soloing. (Seriously, no one wants me!)

2. How do you get an airship pass? (If I can get one at my level, I'm sooo out of there.)

3. Let's say I do reach lvl 15 during my stay... what do I gotta do to get a chocobo liscence?

Um... that's about it.

The chocobo license can only be obtained at level 20. So you made your trip for nothing.

Airship pass can be bought for 150k gil, or can be obtained by getting 3 keys from different areas, all way too hard for a level 14.

So, in essence, better get to walkin' back to Bastok.

Their are alot of misconceptions about this.
You can not get the chocobo licencse until lvl 20. You can ride a chocobo at 15 though if you start at your home town (This is ONLY for working another job up).

1) No, not at all really.
2) Thats a long ways off for you =P earliest you should think about it is if your lvl 30 and have a lvl 55+ friend.
3)When you hit 20, you need to buy 5 grasses (Gausibet I think). They are found in miscellenous section of AH and talk about medicine in the description.

Ooooh crap, I'm gonna die.

To clear up the differences in the post.

Their are two airpasses. One gets you to Khazam. A great spot from 25-32.

The other is to get you to all towns.

That airship pass will ONLY take you to kazham.. the full airship pass costs 500K gil...

Did you grab a crystal from the Dem or Holla crags yet? If you did, you can shout for a "Teleport-Dem" or "Teleport-Holla", which will usually cost you 500 gil.

Did you set your homepoint in jeuno? If your homepoint is still in a safe place, you could just switch to level 1, go out there and get killed, and then spawn back home.

If not, I'm afraid you'll have to switch to a level 1 job (to avoid xp loss if you die) at the rent-a-room and make a run for it.. eventually you'll make it back (the route to bastok is the easiest one)!

You don't have to walk!

You can usually get a tellaport out of Jeuno. Often for free. Just ask, with the translator (do you have it?) (teleport-*) (please invite me). You will need to ask for a TP to the crag that nearest where you want to go. Teleport-holla is in lathiene for example.

Good work getting to Jueno! I recomend you try for a teleport Holla and head south from Lathiene to Valkurm. People will want you like crazy when you hit 15 there.

If he has the Crystal, most likely Dem, would put you in Konschtat Highlands, which is dead easy to get back to Bastok. Jeuno has nothing for you, better start begging for a Teleport-Dem or get running with a level 1.

Know what... I just... ran. At the level I was at. And I didn't die!! Yaay!
*parties*

I think it's the first time I've ever felt safe in Konschtat. ^^;

Thanks for your help guys.

PS I'm not a he. I'm a she.

Heh, you're a "he" in my book, 'cause you got balls to make that walk twice. ;)

Honestly, though, Jeuno has nothing for you until you're level 20 (or level 19 for BLM's and WHM's). The Dunes is where it's at.

Honestly, I do stupid stuff like this all the time. I walked to Selbina in my lvl 10-11 days, and was pretty proud of that too. Then I got on the boat to Mhaura, and when I got there, I got homesick and went back. ^^;

Idiots shouldn't play this game! But I do anyway. Cause it's fun.

exploring is fun, dont be disappointed in that. but i think you're a soloer that's why you can make these trips without wanting to level up fast...eg people log in, they want groups in 5 mins. you log in, you already planned to visit some zone to check it out.

but occasionally when you do group, ask people about places and such. that will save you a little bit of heartache to know that you shouldn't be there (for levelling purposes) or that nothing is there which you can fight (for levelling purpose). for exploration purpose, go anywhere you want, it's all fun.

Brookie just a question..

You said 5 grasses... Though I'm pretty sure it's only 4.. Cause the first time yu try to give it.. it doesn't actually it eat it.. which lives 4 days left...

I think..
#15 Jan 28 2004 at 12:48 PM Rating: Decent
You are right...it is only 4 Grasses. And I got my airship pass for Khazam at 21, with help from 2 friends in the high 20's, low 30's, so it's not impossible to get it early :).

To directly answer number 2: Most people get an airship pass for "civilized cities" when it is awarded on completion for rank 5 of your home city. It's not all that difficult but it's a slow process around level 40. I won't delve into too many details since you can look it up yourself and don't want to spoil too much. Personally I did both rank 4 and 5 in one day with a PT at level 38 with a help of an (overly) friendly high level japanese for one part of the quest (Windurst part.)

Since you are from Bastok, I recommend hunting the grass yourself from Wadi hares in Dangruf Wadi. At level 20, it should be an easy process though grass on my sever has plunged really low in prices as it isn't a very hard item to obtain in quantity.

Honestly, you should feel proud upon reaching Jueno and I hope you had a fun time exploring. It is my favorite city. The gardens remind me of FF 8 though. >.>

I ran a lvl 1 mule there from San D, it was easy as pie since I knew the way by heart ^^

Once you reach 24-25 you should get your Khazam airpass, it makes lvling extremely easier. Just ask someone on your linkshell to help you.

lol ... i did something similar, with a group of 3 level 9-10

It was great to see what the "countryside" was like and we were all pretty wow'd by Jueno coming from Windurst. Great experience IMHO.

We even had trouble getting there (2 of us got aggro'd in the Campaing - playground for the level 50+) and the last one made it and had a high level WHM come by and save us

Once we got there we all looked around, I didn't have anything that i could really do though ... and getting back was difficult. In the end another high level player helped me back to Windy ... this person was nice enough to spend almost a hr to take me there on foot and make sure i didn't die on the way.

Next time i went there i was level 20 and it was a different story
