I was in a party last night in Qufim and there was a brief squabble over who should pull. I was told that thieves steal, not pull, so our level 20 war went out to pull using provoke. Rather than get indignant, I figured it was less risk to me and didn't really matter.

Our warrior died in the first battle because he took 2 crits on the way back.

I asked politely for the chance to prove myself, and I was granted that very chance. So I went to work, pulling with my beloved 5 Pulling Macro Set.

We chained faster than ever before. And thanks to a series of consecutive level ups, we were able to chain ITs together at one point because people were at full HP/MP from the level, getting up to 240 xp from an IT Snipper. Hell, at one point, the ranger we were with admitted I was a better puller, which blew my mind (although I am a ranger in training).

The moral of the story? Don't pull with Provoke. No, wait, that's not it. Don't get mad if someone tells you to do something other than what you're good at. Just wait for your chance to shine, and show them what you're good at without griping. Nobody likes a whiner.

I actually love my thf for his range ability... I find it a great way to pull and do some initial damage if it hits.

If you've got one, I'll take it! I like cookies, but no oatmeal raisin please. I occassionally mistake them for chocolate chip, and they're just not as good.

I'm just in a good mood, so I thought I'd post it. So what if I toot my own horn once in a while? I'm jazzed! Beats the hell out of another gil-selling topic...

Not sure why.. but I was party leader the other day in qufim while leveling bard..

I let my whm be the puller for awhile.. cause he was doing a great job as whm and we didn't want to aggro anything by having a war running around pulling mobs at night..

The blm and whm both took turns pulling with spells, it worked great. I had to remind them to not forget who is pulling at that time... cause we almost had some dual pulls..

They both had fun doing something that they don't normally get to do in a party situation and it worked well. We never fought something we didn't want to, even with banshee's in our area.

I say forget the norm! Just don't get your party killed. :) Heck, I'm a galka with a caster sub and bard as main.. what do I know? I thought the grain was meant to be crossed!

I will personally give you *2 dozen* freshly baked VR Chocolate Chip Cookies if you could reveal the secret of your 5 Step Pulling Macro. As a THF, I'm interested in learning about pulling, so I can offer my services as such when needed.

Sweet! More cookies!

In any order they are (parenthesis mean autotranslated):

1.
/ja "Boost" <me>
/wait 8
/ja "Sneak Attack" <me>
/wait 8
/ja "Boost" <me>
/echo Don't forget to steal!

2.
(Incredibly Tough) <t>! Get ready for a real fight!

3.
(Very Tough) <t>. Let's keep going!

4.
(Tough) or weaker <t>, for TP buildup or chain fodder.

5.
Pulling <t> with ranged attack in 5!
/shoot <t>
/wait 6
Returning to camp with <t> quarry in tow! <call3>

What's also fun is if the mob is near camp, instead of pulling, you just make sure you're not Locked On, then sneak attack it and run back to camp.

I really have to disagree with you guys! Oatmeal raisin cookies are great! Chocolate is also fine, but it has no place in cookies or cakes, it should stay in truffles and chocolate milk where it belongs. If you guys find any virtual oatmeal raisin send em my way! And if for some reason you want the virtual chocolate chip cookies I come across, they're all yours.

Every melee should have a ranged weapon of some type. I dont care if its pebbles. You never know when you will be asked to step up and pull.

As a war or pally, i would chalk it up to being as important as a piece of defensive armor. Lets see, armor helps you mitigate damage better correct? Well, theres not a single piece of armor that can guarantee you wont get hit by a mob.

But i can guarantee that you can pull with a ranged weapon and never get hit on incoming, unless its a caster or a mob with a ranged attack. Thats a guaranteed deletion of 2-5 hits per pull for you voke pullers

Heres a tip aswell. When pulling, after the arrow/bolt/bullet is notched/cocked, you can spin your character around toward the direction you wish to run. It will mess up your firing animation, but the shot will still fire. This cuts out your spin time and allows greater distance between you and the mob.

heh... I'll pass on the chocolate chip... too much chocolate is too sweet... I don't like milk, but chocolate milk is pretty good. Anyone know where I can pick up a batch of VR sugar cookies? Those are the best! Yes, oatmeal cookies are great... I just don't like the raisin's that come in them most of the times. To me its just two different tastes and textures that should not be mixed together.

Want to know what I don't understand? Why are pebbles so expensive? All classes should have a lv1 skill called "Look at the ground" that gives you a random number of pebbles with no recast time. Oh, but you can synth them, too! It takes a wind crystal. Why not just throw the wind crystal?

Bah!

lol... would a wind crystal work very well? I imagine some creatures it'd work wonderfully on... such as mesmerizers and neckchoppers... but what would it do to a bat? Whats the recipe and level req. for making pebbles? Oh yes, I agree... are pebbles not lil stones found on the ground? WTF?
