just curious because i am broke and need 70k to buy dispel. i dont much feel like playing thf until 15 so was wondering if items drop more often just by being a thf.

There's nothing written anywhere about a THF's increased chance of item drops before treasure hunter. I think low levels (1-5) have a slightly increased rate of drops however...Unfortunately, there's no mobs 1-5 that are going to drop something incredibly valuable.

On another note, THFs get gilfinder at lvl 5, so that could help.

No, but you get gil hunter at lvl 5 which I estimate (totally empirically) as a 33% bump on gil. You'd have to kill about 2100 weak gelshba orcs to get 70k though.

There's also a good 5-6 rares that you could start camping in hopes of getting the drops. For instance the night cape is pretty popular on my server and sells for 30k. Drops from a rare bat in Valkurm. Be prepared to spend lots of time camping.

I've noticed that, too. I think there are unstated inherent bonuses to classes that Squeenix isn't saying anything about.

compared to when i was playing war i seemed to be getting more drops than usual

75k isn't going to come by in 5 thf levels though, be it drops or gil ... i'd try leveling all jobs to 10 and then you should be close
