The lack of an obvious search feature led me to post this, but I'm curious what you would say as a whole are the rarest, most needed, and most over-used classes. I know this has been done before, but it changes, as it does with all MMORPGs and I'm curious about this before I take the next step with my Character. I know it varies from server to server, but general trends are usually visible. Thanks.
Search feature where? If you mean in game then do /search all <class> and youll find out how many of a given class on at any given time.
I would limit the search from say, 40 or 50 to 75, so you dont pick up all the sub 30s working up to where they can hit the advanced jobs.
my guesses:
drk-most popular/overused
bst/bard-least popular
bard/whm-most needed
ranger/post 30 monk/summoner are kind of scarce (seen 2 rangers, no post 30 monks, grouped w/1 summoner)

I meant in this forum. In game search is useful, but I was interested in a greater consensus among servers and such.
Ramuh Population:
Most used class: Main job - Monk
Most used class: Sub job - Warrior
Least used class: Main job - Beastmaster
Least used class: Sub job - Ninja
Most used class: Main job - Monk

Using the search feature in game I tend to come up with the numbers that say
Most Picked Job: Warrior
Most Picked Advanced Job: Dark Knight
I always thought there was a massive over population of Dragoons, but when I do a sea, DRKs outnumber them 2:1 every time!
This is on Quetzalcoatl. There is a Massive underpopulation od PLDs tho, usually less than DRGs. which sucks. but there ALOT more WHMs then it seems.

When you do it that way, you don't get the full number.. There's like 6+ PT's on at any time (at my level), but there's only 1 WHM at my level range? Odd, huh?
A pretty good percentage of WHM's are anonymous, so they don't get party/raise tells all the time. That won't show up in the /sea.
