players to avoid on cerebusFollow

i had an extremely bad situation 2 days ago at elshimo on the cerebus server. I led a party which included a certain character "Kurosawa". At that time he was a ninja, althoigh i have heard that he has other adv. jobs as well. To get right to the point, during the game, Kurosawa admitted to "watching DVDs" during the battle, and was proud of it- that would explain why for some reason we were always halfway through the battle before he would jump in. As leader i called him on it and he ignored it, and i being patient gave him another chance.

After another close call, our WHM also called him on it, and more words were exchanged. Just when i thought that the situation had been diffused, i realize that the ninja used his suicide ability to aggro an IT white lizard, while we were resting, quite a distance from the zone, to try and kill the WHM, and the whole party along with him.

It was an amazingly callous display of bad form. I can only imagine what kind of person would be this selfish and self centered to not think of the hard work people have put into gaining xp and leveling- to get others killed without regard deserves more than a boot . we made a GM call, reported him, and although the GM said he was investigating it, i really do not know if any action will be taken against "Kurosawa".

So i call unto all players on cerebus, to blacklist "Kurosawa". hit him/her where it hurts, ban him from any party, boot him from your group, or LS. this kind of behavior must not be left unpunished.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but untill I have personal experiance with such behaviour from a player or have heard confirmation from several other players that I know I won't just automaticly blacklist somone.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

Kurosawa was a Samurai in qufim when I grouped with him before, and yes, he had the behavior described... Just blacklist and boot.

hmmm... I too play on cerberus. I am quite afraid to party up actually because if you don't party up with some smart people, everyone in the party is at risk. I know I can party up with my friends in my linkshell, and occasionally I get lucky and find some good party members such as wulf, proge and some others. I have also been partied with some people that I wondered wtf was I doin in the party? One guy pulled a mob to a place other than where the rest of the party was camped. We couldn't run over to help him without agro'ing a gobby standing in our path... so he runs over to us (which agro'd the gobby just the same). Our whm started fleeing like a lil school girl and I had to use my "Hundred fist" ability, "dodge" and my combo to take the gobby down. I had 12 hp left after it was all said and done, and we had lost one warrior. The warrior who voked said he forgot the campsite. He was a good party member after this point (and in his defense, he had JUST joined the party and was not 100% sure where we were camped). Though it did result in one death, and almost three others.

Thax for the info. I have an unhappy experience in Cerberus few days ago too, which I posted in "Things (or people) you just can't stand in FFXI" tread. His login is Doji, if I didn't remember wrong, he is a RDM.

Another player is called Leyego (Sorry but not sure the exact spelling, either Loyago, or Leyago, I only sure about L?y?g?, and ?=aeiou, it is a long time), I called it a coward warrior, as the whole party near to die, he still refused to provoke even though his HP is near full through out the game. After he gained his desired level, log out immediately without even info the party.

Another BLM, I forget the log in, leave the party at the middle of battle when we fight a IT.

Those are the only people I wanted to avoid after playing FF11 for months in Cerberus. Most players are very friendly and doing their jobs well.

indeed.. most players in cerberus are kind and generous. Then there are some people I hope their karma is rather fitting. Like this one warrior I saw in H-9 of w. ron. I'm killing spawns, gaining exp. I start a fight with a decent challenge gobby thug and half way thru battle, an Orc Fodder decides to take interest too. Though he's an easy prey, after I finished the gobby (and had 42 hp left) I had to run... I never began to fight the orc, so he was still free to be claimed by anyone. While I'm running I'm /shout I'm being chased by a <t> in <pos>.. PLEASE HELP!!! and I get one tell asking >>Where are you? and another that says: >>LOL I think its funny, I hope you die. The worse thing about it is that enraged me soo much, I stopped, used my weapon skill and my dodge job ability as well as boost. Layed down the orc and went back to examiner the bully. Level 7 war. One less level than I, could have casted provoke, but would rather be mean.

Another would be over this last weekend. I'm in Bastok on my low level (I think lvl 4 blm at this time... maybe 5) and some player walks up next to a beastman while I'm fighting a worm. The player moves close enough so the beastman see's her and comes over to investigate (but stays out of the agro radius). She leads the beastman all the way to three feet away from me when it turns and agro's me as I'm finishing off the worm. I shouted and told the story and luckily someone saved me from utter certain death. So with 13 points left I shout I hope the karma is fitting for both players.

I'm satisfied with the amount of kind and generous players on cerberus though... I just wish there were more. I think it'd be awesome if a whm stops and cast's cure or cure II on someone he/she see's healing, or protect even if someone already has it. Occassionally I find mages that cast protect and shell and all the other protective spells, or will cure me till my battle is over... Its these I wish to pay back somehow... so I started my own whm to contribute.

and oooo that leyegas guy has made my black list... thats jacked up. A party is a team... you're supposed to work together to accomplish the same goals and objectives... not get what you want and ***** everyone else... as for that BLM that dropped in the middle of battle... did he leave or is there a possiblity he got disconnected? I'm always willing to give someone reasonable doubt at first...

Well, Kurosawa is in my LS, never heard anything bad about them from anyone, but I havent partied with them so I dont have first hand experience.

As for bad people, I know of only 2 who really deserve mention. One, Existor, a dragoon with poor gear who was insulted I didn't want to party with him, when he was 28 and I was 25. I graciously declined and he decided to send heckling tells for the remainder of the day. Blisted.

The second is Hemlet, an arrogant level 70 something importer. Thinks that since he bought the game a year before everyone and has 300 days of play time we should bow down in his prescence.

Wow, scary to thing someone would watch a DVD during battle (fish I could understand). Nonetheless, I don't blist people for no good reason. Sure I will be weary of this person if I get a party req from him. Oh and I know Wulf, he's always /telling me to get a raise from my BF... does that mean he really is a good player? (Just kidding he's a friend, gotta give him crap cause his name cropped up :)

As for the general group experience...sometimes it's good sometimes it blows. Last night was my first night in Kazham. Started the night with a group of 3 friends, me, and 2 ppl we picked up there. Quick deaths at the hands of a local gob ensued. We played in that group for a while, even got a level, then 2 ppl left for bed. We picked up another person and fought alright with one mage...till the group decided to move in deeper due to the bad lag at the Kazham zone... needless to say, more gobbie-related deaths occured. After this, the group essentially was toast. I don't hold it against these players, I chalk it up to a learning experience...don't f**k with those gobs at lvl 25/26! After the group disbanded I decided to fish a bit in Kazham. After about 10 min of fishing, someone runs up and asks me if I want to group. I decided it was more interesting than fishing so I joined up. Lucky me, that group rocked and I got another level that night...

Hrm...I've seen Bruiser running round on Cerb.. Krem sounds familiar too :)

*edit*
I know Existor, he's in a LS I sometimes hang out in. I've never had any personal issues with him, but he does like to sit in homepoints to ***** with those mouse-using users out there :)

Her is what happen to the BLM. He asked if anybody can leave so that his friend can join, during that time, we have 6 members.

After he yelled on that for 3 times, nobody want to leave. So at the middle of the battle, when his friends has arrived, he disband from the party, and go to talk to his friends just beside us, while we fighting the IT.

Our warrior died despite all people's great effort, and he died by the monster last hit. As I am also a BLM at that time, I know that just one more God-damn elemental spell in parellel with my cast can finish battle before the warrior died.

The first response from the team members are, we are going to black list that A**hole...

This is eaxctly what happen. Unfornately I cannot remember the log-in name.

i c... yea... then ***** that guy... lil kid doesn't get his way so he whines and bails.... at least a smart player would think... hmmm I'm half way thru battle... I can probably pull at least 70 exp from this thing, I'll stick it out then bail... (at least that's what I'd do) Infact, I would probably even throw in a "Well, since no one wants to leave so my friend can join, I must depart and start my own... Its been fun guys, and thnx." then I'd disban.

tekkub... lol thats too funny... last night was my roommate's first time in Kahzam as well... he's a lvl 30 blm/17 whm by the name Phylbrik. I can't believe as big as the servers are, I can run into someone I met in san d'oria all the way out in the middle of the buburimu peninsula. Kinda funny when I do too... ran into wulf like that last night or the night before actually... found him zoning in just as I got to the zone to zone out. The only reason I find it soo funny is cause the game is sooo huge yet I bump into people I know all over the place.

I think this is so wrong. it's like you're trying to draw your opinion of players into other people's heads. i have seen this done many times. you think it's all justified because you feel that this person has done something wrong. everyone has bad days, even you. some reasons are good and some are just plain pathetic.

i have been in Linkshells on Ifrit where one person was mad at this player in his party for saying that he didn't like the job class he had. So in retaliation, he told the whole linkshell that this person was a mean, bad person. Now this has spread. I ask people that i hear say his name.... "how do you know he's a bad person?" Their response, "MY friend told me." I say, "Have you partied with the guy?" Their response, "Ahh... no!"

All this over some superficial bullsh*t. I know this player being put down, and he's a very good guy. I say if you don't like the player, YOU stay away from him/her. I have seen other cases like this as well. Things like this will continue to happen, but just put yourself in these people shoes when they can no longer find a party because you're spreading your petty reasons around to everyone. Realize that it's just a game after-all. I don't usually post stuff like this, but i'm so tired of people telling other people to /blist someone because they did bad in a party or he/she did something that YOU didn't like.

While I agree that blacklisting someone you don't know is a bad idea, I don't think warning other people is that terrible. You should know that in any MMORPG that your actions, good or bad, might become a matter of public knowledge. Spreading the word about bad players does three things -- it warns people to be careful when dealing with that player; it may get the bad player fewer group invites (karma!); it might warn new players on these boards about things they shouldn't do and the possible consequences if they do them anyway.

Well I only blist ppl for a few reasons:
- They **** me off royally (hard to do)
- They beg for gil, and I'm not talking a lvl 5 asking for 200g...
- They spam hardcore...like ppl that /poke every second. If you read the terms on the game, SE doesn't want ppl doing that wither.

Check out my blist right now, there's about 20 people on it...and it looks like Kurosawa pissed me off in the past cause he's on there!
