Hiring NPC to fight!Follow

Think Diablo II where you can hire NPC's to fight with you. There are many times where finding the all elusive WHM to complete your party takes hours! People leave your party before you even get a WHM because it takes so long. THen you have to put up with their arrogance and superior attitude that they are so important and that everyone must listen to them.

So i think it would be a great idea to be able to hire some basic WHM NPC that can auto heal your group in case you can't find a real WHM. What do you think...am I crazy?

i think it would be better if they could somehow make WHM a more appealing class to play

They did, it's called a RDM.

Bah dude, were playing FINAL FANTASY ELEVEN! not diablo II. mercs would just make it too much like any other game. anyway if you want people to fight for you its called FORMING A PARTY! plus it doesnt cost you prescious gil to form a party whereas it would to form a party with smelly npc who is nowhere near as smart as another player. Plus an auto healing npc would make the game too easy! scratch this idea completely and go flush your head down a toilet to wake yourself up to reality!

I am playing WHM now. The most exciting moments I have is when the mobs come to me. otherwise, it is healing & healing. I begin to get a little bit bore of it, may consider switch to RDM in the future if I cannot find new excitements.

I would hope they make WHM like Aries in FF7, though it is not power, but can do reasonable damage.

DRG/any mage = NPC that heals you. ^_^

Bah, you're getting into pretty crappy parties if can't find a WHM, or at least a few RDMs.

If you want NPC party members so much, just get to 30 and become either a Beastmaster, Summoner, or Dragoon. There you go, free NPC.

It's not boring all the time to play a white mage IMO. Tonight I had a good party but they were pulling WAY too slow. So after about an hour and a half of this I asked to pull a few. Of course I got the usual responses "OMG a white mage can't pull!!!" "WOW do you even know how to play a WHT??!!" and this was after almost 2 hours of them not dying because of me..

So, they said "fine let the healer pull LOLOLOLOLOL"
I then pulled 3 mobs in succesion netting us over 400exp within 5 minutes. 400exp was usually taking us 20 minutes to gain with the Taru tank pulling..

They were quite surprised that I could pull mobs like that.

obviously most white mages SHOULDN'T pull, but I've played lots of melee classes so I know what I am doing.

I used to love pulling with my RDM using Bind or the spell that reduces the mobs movement rate ( /em forgot the name)

lol The group would be like, where the hell is it?? while I rested my MP to full. Then it comes walking up to us ...

and hiring NPC to fight with you is a very...very...not good idea.

Um, you aren't always getting into crappy parties if you can't find RDM or WHM. Yes, you will have increased downtime, but you can manage. On our server you can sometimes go for hours without even SEEING a whm, let alone finding one who's available to party. RDM isn't much better.
But you get by, and I've been in some awesome parties.
