Will Elvan make a good Samurai/Ninja?Follow
I'm a lvl 22 Elvan and my goal is to become a SAM and later sub as a Ninja. But I did not realize until today that Elvan's may inherently have a low dexterity in comparison to all other races? Is this true? I am told that having high dex is important for using two handed weapons such as Katana's. So am I worrying over nothing or is the Elvan somehow dissadvantaged if they are a SAM? I think that would super suck becasue you can't tell from the start.
first a ninja sub for samurai would kinda be dumb choice.
samurai uses great katanas and ninja is mainly for duel wield.
they dont mix well
second yes.....elfs get worst dex/agil and dont stat wise make great samurai or ninja.....or ranger for that matter.
but you can get gear with dex/agil to help that or pick class/sub that boost dex like a THF/NIN combo isnt bad as a elf if you have 2(2+dex rings) and other dex/agil gear.
even if it is not best dont get discuraged.
also remember if they miss alot and use a high delay wep like samurai do then your total damage will be hurting

As he said, you can get gear and stuff to buff your stats up to a decent range. They might not make the "best" samurai, but they are certainly playable. Also as was said, that's not the prime job/subjob duo, but hey, play what ya like.
any class can be played by any race, but you must realize you will have limitations and some groups might see you.

I'm mithra if you haven't guessed, and I still pump out my +dex and +accuracy, and I still miss quite a bit. What you can reasonably get for about 100k is +3 accuracy and +4 dex. I have a nice big dexterity advantage over elvaan because of my race, and I have alot of the +dex gear too...and I STILL miss alot.
Remember, job of a Samurai is to hit alot (for TP), not to hit hard.
I have seen many successful elvaan Sam's though, but just a warning you will have to spend alot to do well.

Leaping Boots (200k)
Spikefang Necklace (20k)
2x Archer's Rings (400k)
Life belt (god knows how much)
