crystals = rank ?Follow

#1 Jan 23 2004 at 9:48 AM Rating: Decent
I've been told many times that crystals can be turned in for some rank points. I know this question is stupid, but I am resorting to the forums only because I have exausted other methods of getting an answer. How/Where do you turn them in? I heard something about "Gate Gaurds" - are those the NPCs by city exits, by where you get missions, or the outpost NPCs? I've tried trading to all of the above with no result. Please help! ^^

1: You need to be RANK 2 or higher to trade in crystals.

2: You can trade crystals to the guards that give you SIGNET. (name ends with T.K. in San D'Oria, I.M. (?) in Bastok, and W.W. in Windurst)

3: Trading crystals will NOT raise you rank LEVEL, just fill your rank progress bar. Every rank has an 'Exam mission' that promotes you to the next rank.

4: Sometimes you will need to fill your rank meter a bit to be offered new missions. This can be accomplished either by repeating earlier missions, or by trading crystals.

You need to be at least Rank 2 and I believe the only NPC you can give the crystals to is the War Warlock (the one that casts Signet.)

First of all you can trade crystals to guards that give you signet. Depending on what nation that is they usally have a the same name pre-fix, like I. M. xxxx. When you trade in crystals your rank XP (can't think of a better term) will increase sometime allowing you to skip missions. However there are some quests you can't skip and can't move from 1 rank to another with out completing a quest.

Also to get some later missions you have to either do repeat missions or donate crystals to advance.

Target the guard that gives you Signet.
Select Trade from your menu.
