I'm not sure I would feel comfortable putting my name (or alias in this case) on something that I did none of the original artwork for...

Kudos for the effort and for showing us some cool anime mithra (my fav), but as an artist myself I would suggest at least putting the site address where you got these in the pictures somewhere. Otherwise this seems a bit like plagiarism, no matter how much you say you only did the background.

The wallpapers are nice, I like #1...but I agree, at least give credit to the original images, and the site(s) they came from.
#5 Jan 23 2004 at 3:50 AM Rating: Default
its signed, "Background by:". Its all I created on my own, all I'm taking claim for. You can go anywhere on the net and find thousands more like this... www.animewallpapers.com is one example.

But still I'm nice guy and not taking credit for any original photos and just the editing.
Heres the info's for the pictures, left to right. You probably need Japanese text enabled to read this.

I give full credit to image B_FFxI01, B_FFXI03, ff00 (and yes that is what they where named).

Brookie:

The problem is that that label is confusing.
Those images appear to be sized for desktop wallpaper. Also referred to as a 'backgorund' by many people. Labelling it 'Background by...' can lead people to believe that all of the art is yours. If you really wish to avoid this misconception, then I would suggest

Layout by ____; Mithra from various sources

or something of that nature.
#8 Jan 23 2004 at 5:15 AM Rating: Default
The label is not confusing. I created the background so it is "created by:" me. The images where not sized for wallpapers already...I did all sizing and editing myself. Would hope I could do better then just pulling three pictures from another person's wallpaper and putting them on mine.

I do not need to change to "edited by:" or "layout by:".
For one, I did alot more then a layout. If you look at the original images (names posted in above message, just type them in google image search, its what I did), I added body parts for the wallpaper. Claiming all I did was a layout would be false.

All pictures are now saved in a single layer JPG. I do not wish to chop shop them up to just reword the credits.

I never claimed to be the author of the original sources of these pictures.

I did claim that I wasn't the author for the original pictures.

I did the best I could to post cite the sources that where with the pictures but it appears this message board doesn't pick up Kanji.

I can not post the exact site that they came from because it is limited to "Japanese Only" when you try to off-site link. Only way is to go through Google, as I have mentioned.

Look...I did alot to make sure no credit was misgivin...yet seems like always a problem with something.

Simple fact is, if you can be at all offended by a wall paper, please don't look at mine.
If you are interested in a mithra wallpaper, as I made for some friends that where, then please feel free to download mine and use it when I get the bandwith limits again.

I'm tired....goodnight.

I suppose the artist that drew the pictures is called Winn. His/Her website is www.pluto.dti.ne.jp/~winn/

I think those links aren't vald anymore.. I tried going to them and it says "not available because it violated the Terms" or something.. and when I tryed to break the adress down.. I saw the coding that said something about "sexual undertone" before it went to the Terms page... I bet they're hot... cause I'm sick <~_^>

Count on a Mithra to take credit for someone elses work then put it on an almost inaccessable site. So typical :P
#12 Jan 23 2004 at 1:47 PM Rating: Default
I agree that they are hard to access...

This post has received several hundred people at least. (yet seems just a couple find necessary to hassle me about the credits =/ ).

All these people viewing this post are trying to pull up a set of 6 JPEG's at .5 mb a piece. It comes down to its alot of bandwith going out. Angelfire won't handle it. I'm working to get more access now.

Yup, they didn't like that I had about 500 hits or so 30 minutes after the page was created. They probably assumed I had some mass spam or **** ring going.

Although I've never been big on 'catwomen' or 'furries' or whatever you call em, those pics are pretty okay. Little rough around the edges, but not bad. I've been meaning to make me some more backgrounds, but no time for anything really.
#17 Jan 24 2004 at 2:57 AM Rating: Default
ya. Its hard to find good pics for them. They where the best I could find though. Personally I really liked them cause I'm big anime fan.

Only other pics I could find where low res screen shots....or the one instruction book mithra (one with short brown hair and high res).

I thought glow effect on the main character really helped the edges, unless that was an expression =P
