Making money in Jeuno (problem)Follow

#1 Jan 22 2004 at 6:23 PM Rating: Decent
Okay heres the score.. I'm a Hume BLM 20 WHM 6, in Jeuno, I travelled here to do my chocobo quest. I didn't realize it'd be so difficult to make money here. I have 93 gil to my name. I can't really travel back to windurst (my home), because its far too dangerous going through champaign alone, hell, almost died with a lvl 44 Dragoon escort..

I need a way to make money in Jeuno, bottom line.. anyone have any suggestions?

Find someone to take you to an easier town, go farm, then come back.

Quite unfortunately, there isn't with only 93 gil. :(

Whatever you do please don't beg for money. ;)

However, it shouldn't be too difficult running back to an easier city with an escort. It's quite do-able, just become adept at avoiding mobs. ;)

If you are on Ragnarok I can help you get back to an easier city.

change to a lower lvl job htat you dont mind dying and losing exp then head back to easier town and farm for a few days. i alternate one week of levelling with one week of farming and my money acct is OK. you can of course choose your own schedule but the point is, you cannot get money just from levelling up normally.

It shouldn't be TOO hard to get back through the champaign. You just have to be really careful, and not rush it. I'd been to Jeuno twice before went there for my Chocobo quest, and only used a warp scroll once. Just stick roughly to the roads, and if it looks risky, wait for an opening.

You can switch over to a lvl 1 job and make a run for it. I sent my mule, a lvl 1 taru thief, from bastok to jueno without dying. Just died once on the way back, in the marshes, thats the first time I've ever died making the trip, just take your time and go slowly.

Made the run with the batallia> jugner route many, many times before I got a chocobo. Never died. If you can keep your head about you, you can make it, easy. If you've done the chocobo quest, sell some random crap, and buy a chocobo and head back, nothing will be able to touch you!

Sheesh, what server are you on? Ill give you the money for a frickin chocobo ride.

If you haven't done it, then why you came out there in the first place with no money and no grasses is beyond me.

Stick to the path, and if you cant do that hug the walls till you find the zone you want. The paths are usually open sighted enough for you to see any incoming hostile monsters, and the walls prevent the chances of a flank as well as give you a safe, but long route home. I went from San d'Oria to Jeuno on foot and without a map of Batilla Downs. Its alot harder to get their from San d'Oria then it is from Windurst. Get some guts and hoof it!

Glad to see some Power Level 1 players out there. You can travel around the world; round trip with level 1 job.

another way (staying in jeuno):

fight in qufim and sell the loot (won't be much at all, but maybe you can convince PT members you meet to help you out :P), or: sell equipment at the AH until you can afford the grasses you need + one chocobo fare.. drastic but might be worth it!

Yeah, stick around Jeuno for a little while leveling in Qufim. Giants drop a little gil, so that will help when you can start fighing them. In five levels, I am sure that you will have enough gil to get your chobobo quest items and be able to rent a chicken to get back home. If not, you can start partying in Batilla Downs around level 25, goblins drop gil too.

Not to mention crystals (if the bestmen are not control of the areas) and other drops you may find in the area. Just focus on leveling up for a bit, the money will come to you.

As far as I am concerned there are NO good drops in qufim except 2. Carbuncle ruby, and Shall shell which sells to npcs for 600. The gil stinks ( I havent done to much past the second floor of the tower but it stunk there so I expect it would just get a little better the higher you go) Go to battalia as soon as you can. tigers drop good loot, and there are gobs and safe zones. You can make a lot of money off a tiger.

Fish up some Yellow Globes -- they were selling for 2,500 a stack on Alexander the other day, and you may not have to leave town to get them. Using a Sabiki Rig, you can get up to three of these at once, plus some sardine bycatch. If you don't have enough money to play the fees, then just sell them to the NPCs until you have enough.
