Compact Keyboard BugFollow

I’ve been reading these boards for about a month now, and haven’t seen anyone mention this. So, I thought I’d give it a go. Please note that my intention for this thread is to identify a bug for people.

This only occurs in Compact Keyboard mode and it’s happened to me on 3 different computers. It actually took me a while to figure out what was happening and why.

When you hit space, the little text entry bar appears. I then type something like “Yeah”. If I wait a second, then hit enter, it will ‘say’ it normally. However, if I type it very fast and hit enter instantly after the ‘h’ in “yeah”, it will make me heal. It seems to be interpreting the last character you typed in as a command on the keyboard since ‘h’ is for healing. This became especially annoying when I’d be healing and talking and ending words with h, or asdw since they’re the movement keys. As a simple solution I forced myself to remember to end every sentence with a period ‘.’ so that instead of disrupting healing it would zoom in (and it’s proper grammar!). Also, sometimes when I ‘/wave’ the game will catch the ‘v’ and switch me to first person mode.

I know that I can just wait a second after everything I type, but I thought I’d throw this bug out there incase anyone else was getting frustrated with this happening and not knowing why.

Thanks for the info, i've only used cmopact once and i didnt like it, it was on a laptop. I'd rather hit the FN button (holdi t down anyway) and have to use the numpad thats built into the letters than compact.

I use compact mode and I've never had this problem before.. I do type very fast but I've still never had the problem. Odd, sounds like something really annoying too.

I've noticed something similar, where if I use a macro containing a /p line too often or type in a chat line too quickly, it gives me an error, even though it is correct (e.g. type in "hi" and it says /party hi and A command line error occured). What you're seeing has never happened to me, but I'll keep an eye out for it.
