n00b question about the airshipsFollow

#1 Jan 21 2004 at 11:56 AM Rating: Decent
I just started this game 3 weeks ago and have found most of the info I need by myself. I can't for the life of me find out what I need to do to get an air pass. Is there a mission or do you just have to walk to other places? I am in bastok and want to travel to windurst (or dose that San O' something place have a fishing guild) Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

To get an airship pass between Jueno and Main Cities you have to be rank5 (you have to do all the missions before to be able to do rank 5 mission).

Fishing guild is in Windurst. Easiest way for you to get there without a chocobo is via Mhaura (take a ship in Selbina for 200g).

Another version of Airpass is Kazham Airpass. That's for airship between Jueno and Kazham. You have to do a quest for 3 treasure keys (Giddeus, Mines in Bastok and Ghelsba)

Until you hit level 20 and can apply for a chocobo license, you will pretty much be walking. You can do chocobo quest in Jeuno, but it will be dangerous for you to get there so try to find an escort if possible when you do go or switch to a level 1 character so you won't lose exp.

Airship passes are sold for $500,000 in Jeuno. You will be awarded a free (if you can call it that) airship pass upon achieving Mission Rank 5.

There is also a somewhat new teleport system available in each of the major cities. If you talk to the gate guards, you can offer to do supply quests to various outposts your country controls. Upon accepting the quest, you simply go to that area's outpost and that establishes a teleport for you between that outpost and your home town. Just be careful, as some areas require a certain level in order to be able to teleport back. There is a fee associated with each teleport, starting at 200 gil for the closest ones. You will need to find out which NPC in your area is the teleport center rep, as he's the one you will go to for teleport service (when active). This may help you get closer to far away regions you want to travel to.

There are also crags in each of the three main regions, and each has a teleport crystal you need to get. Once you get this, you will be able to ask in town if someone could Teleport-Holla, for example (which would bring you to La Theine, close to San d'Oria). Most times players will charge you for this service though.

And finally, no San d'Oria does not have a fishing guild. Fishing guilds are located in Windhurst and Selbina.

Just to add to ffnya's excellent post, the Selbina fishing guild is kinda gimped. They don't offer Fishing Imagery Support, nor can you do the rank test there (to advance past the skill level caps). You'll have to go to Windurst for both of those services.
