Well after alot of though i have desided to take on the Impossible. I am going to make a Spread Sheet with AH prices From each AH, SanD, Jueno, Bastok and Windhurst. I will be putting the Lowest and Highest price sold.(Ex 1,200-1,500). I will make a link to D/L it. It will be made in Excel. So you can edit it to your likings. Why? You ask. Because im tired of throwing stuff away that i could have sold (When i fight new mobs) or traded for some good gil. Sence our inventory is so limited i thought it would help to have a Rough price on the items new mobs drop. I might update it every few months if not longer depends on what happens when the PS2 version hits the market. Look for the link to D/L in a few weeks.

Using at as you want to is probably the most useful way to use it. But that is alot of work. Scares me just to think about it :P

While it's not impossible, it's a lot of hard work. I started doing the same thing just for Cooking Ingredients. It took me 3 hours and I didn't even get around to the Jeuno AH before I got bored and wanted to get back to playing. ^^; It's not a bad idea, just very time consuming to do. I will warn you though, since I've used my list I've learned to still check the AH for the current prices of items before going out to farm for specific items to sell. Otherwise you could waste a lot of time on collecting something that doesn't sell as well as you thought it would.

What would be really convenient in my opinion is a list of where to purchase items outside of the AH and for what price. I've since started a list for spells which has come in extremely handy. You'd be suprised at how spells that only cost 3k sell for twice as much at the AH just because people don't know where to find them. There are a lot of NPCs about towns who sell random items. If you know where to look there's a lot of good deals to be found outside of the AH.

Anyway, good luck to you in your endevour.

A large scale website would be useful, which would have tables and the full list of items for every server. Of course prices would need player input, but running that sort of thing would be crazy. It's just fine as it is.

I think this would be more trouble than its worth. Some prices have more swings than a playground! Today I was auctioning my Burning Cesti, the lowest price was 5,500 highest 6k. Before work I checked to see if they had sold and the low price had dropped to 4k!

I usually just write down an approximate cost and figure in about a 1k swing up or down (on bigger items).

Now a spreadsheet on NPC items.... that would be sooooooo wonderful! It would make crafting so much easier.

I wish there was a program that could "check" the server's AH prices, that way we could download a little utility, to see if our items sold, and how much things are being sold at the moment. I doubt that'll be possible without Square-Enix's help... and Im sure they wouldn't bother.

I think alot of you are missing the point here. He wants this primarily as a tool to decide what items to keep and which to drop when hes hunting. Thats why I said in my post best use for what he wants to do.

It would be alot of work and only be good for people on your own server wich is probably the reason no one ever done it before (for a wide scale website that is). A quick example of what I mean... Stack of Fire crystals in Bastok on Midgardsormr 1200gils avg. Same stack of fire crystals on Diabolos 2200 gils avg. Wind crystals 400gils midgardsormr 1200gils Diabolos...
If you do such a list, make sure you indicate on wich server the prices are based on. I can just imagine people cursing at your hard work for no reason other than that on their server some impatient players ran down the AH prices to sell faster and didn't get the prices you listed. With that said, I hope you don't go insane in the process...lol But hey, it's something to do while waiting around 2 hours for a PT invite :)

To try and keep a running db of going prices at the four AH's you're going to need a lot of people to keep it updated, it's something that changes a lot. Not simply the price fluxuations, but the items themselves change. Look at how hard it is to keep track of all the items in the game- this website does nearly weekly updates on 40+ items/quests/monsters And those things don't have a price variable that changes regularly.

I am interested in this idea, I tried making a linkshell for people to get price checks with. The idea was you could ask someone who was at any of the AHs to price check for you. It hasn't really taken off yet, only 3 people in the LS.

I've also created an excel template for keeping track of items I buy/sell so I can analyze prices and profits etc but I found that if I would just go level I made a lot more money than trying to find optimum profitability.

Im not saying your idea isnt good; I would love to see it and help you. Maybe the people who keep the item db's at this website could just add some more fields to the db of Bastok-AH Price, Wind-AH price, San-AH price, etc. and players can submit information and keep it updated. There would need to be some kind of incentive though, but it is a rough idea. Oh well.

Best wishes and goodluck,

I think a list like this would be very useful, even to people in other servers. Sure the price changes depending on the server, but the trends on most servers are the same. A rabbit charm is going be worth 200k+, while earth crystals are only worth 200-400 a stack.. fire crystals 1800-2800, and so on.

I'm not sure how much a list of all the cities would be useful for me, besides finding out trends that might be viable for all servers, but i'd really like to see a list of Jeuno's auction so I can compare and bring it with me for the same reasons as him.. so that I don't throw away stuff I should have kept.

I have started to do this as well... Mainly comparing prices between bastok and windurst right now. I checked crystals, some weapons and armor, and most black spell scrolls... Out of everything I've noticed, weapons are generally same price everywhere except for the rare/special ones (such as ones with additional effects or rare drops from NM's). The spells vary in price just a little bit more, but not much. Unfortunately, I need big money to make money from buying at one and selling at the other. =\.

If you want to do it, more power to you. That is alot of work, I tried it just like many of you have, but I gave up after about 30 minutes. Keep up your good work. I think we all can benefit some from his spread sheet.
