Back in the day, when I played EQ, I read someones argument that a party of 6 bards would be really great.

In this game it's probably not such a good idea!

What job do you think would make the best/worst/funniest/foolish/etc. 6 person group?

I'd like to see 6 Rangers all shoot a mob at the same time myself... maybe it'd be half dead by the time it got to one of them!

Just a random survey to get the gears turnin'.

6 RM would be one of the best combinations as they can do everything really (other than poisona stuff)

6 Bards on here sounds like suicide

6 DRK might hurt the mob a lot but would take too much damage without a tank I think so would have a lot of down time (anyone who has had a drk who thinks he's a tank will know that!)

I think the most apparently humorous one is a party of six White Mages. Sure they could heal each other, but how would the enemy be killed?

i'm thinking maybe 6 paladins would be doable. 6 blackmage/whitemages would also be interesting.

WM can kill stuff kinda with there maul ok! 6 BM could take stuff down, how can 6 people with bind not be able to take things out?
BM 1 = Bind
BM 2-6 = NUKE
Mob unbound
BM 2 = Bind
BM 1 + 3-6 = NUKE

repeat till death of the mob

6 THF/WHM would be neat, 6 times a sneak (and possible trickattack) plus the normal damage they do, plus they can heal themsleves a few times..Plus when stuff get's problematic they can all flee to a zone togethes ^^

Some nice theories indeed.

If 6 whm = the Paddler Patrol, what would 6 bkm be?

I suppose 6 beastmasters could open up a zoo...

Actually, since most people say bst can solo so well, a party of 6 would be pretty feasible.

The 6 BLM Would Also Own In PvP

Sleepga --> Pick Them Off One At A Time

i would really like to be in a 6 blm party. im pretty sure it could work. with bind, sleep, stun and gravity(rdm sub) im pretty sure that if any one blm was getting chased if all the others started nuking or controlling the mob (with bind, sleep, grav) then the chased blm would be able to lose agro or escape. yes there is a chance to resist spells, but with 6 blm who are all paying attention i bet it could work. mobs would die fast too.

pulling would be a problem as everyone would want to rest to heal mp

I've seen an entire party of level ~18 thieves one time. It was the funniest and sickest thing I've ever seen. They were camping bogies for robes and had this elaborate system for SAs set in place. One thief would SA, then the guy now behind the bogy would SA, then they'd rotate around. This worked amazingly well, with not much downtime if you can believe that. Their high evasion and the fact that they killed it so damn fast kept the group from taking too much damage.

This would probably be the best same-class party you could make. It would destroy any monster you put in front them, with no downtime, except to grab a new monster now and then.

6 RDM would be the best combo with different subs

RDM/War - Phalanx Stoneskin Blink: taunt tank~ be galka would be even better
RDM/WHM- Heal status effect
RDM/BLM- NUKE
RDM/DRK- Deal damage
RDM/???- another war another whm?
RDM/???- same as above maybe another BLM

PT wouldn't be that bad at all probably better than some PT

6 Rangers... would anything survive long enough to do damage? But seriously, I have yet to see 6 rangers total, let alone 6 in the same area, let alone 6 in a party...

RDM/NIN would be a pretty good add in for one of those RDM/???'s. They could use the their powders to weaken the mob against the element the nukers are casting.

the 6 ranger thing is almost possible on a lesser scale. assuming 4 meleers in a group, if these 4 meleers could work up ranged skill, it could have a similar effect.

i argue this point a lot since it seems like most people dont work up ranged skill. yes ammo costs...but if we are always 'arguing' about how a certain job could be more effective, this certainly is one way a meleer can be more effective in a group. im not saying, continue to do it instead of melee once the mob gets in close, but 4 arrows entering the mob can be about 100-200 HP off the bat right there.

6 Rdms would be able to own most mobs. I've been in parties with 3 Rdms which were terrific. As long as everyone pays attention and splits up duties the party's great. If you decided to add in a variety of subs, you basically have a self sustaining extermination force.

errr.....
how about 6 SMN with all the avators....lol

that'd be an awesome sight.....

the sad thing is....I am a SMN, and I don't even have one avatar....HELP ME!......lol

6 BLM works fantastically fighting worm type mobs. I've done that in Shakrami before with only 4 blm and actually could get up to xp chain #3 or #4 then rest and repeat. It was alot of fun. Never bothered using our whm subs to heal since we hardly got hit before the maze makers died. Might not work as well as that when the mob can actually move, but then the bind tactic would some into play some.

A six-thief party would be, as another person put it, funny and sick. I wince at the damage of SA after SA after SA, in 10 second intervals. I'm trying to make this happen on Siren but there aren't enough thieves in my LS yet :).

Imagine how pissed some people would get when they see 6 whm enter their zone, only to all be in one party.
---------------------
"Dude, we've been needin' a whm for a while now"
"Dude!, 6 whm just entered our zone, and they're all in our lvl range!"
"Dude!! invite one!!"
...
...
...
"dude... they ALL already found a group..."
...
"dude.... that's petty rough, dude...."
---------------------

yeah... I need sleep...... dudes... (and dudetts)...

I've had up to 3 thieves in a PT at once (We were all THF/WARs. I was the puller, so just before I pulled the mob I'd SA, then run back to camp. Tank would voke off me and I'd run around and hit it with SA. Then I'd provoke it so that the next THF could SA, and then provoke it himself. Rinse and repeat with the third THF. By that time my SA was ready again. So within 30 seconds of the fight us 3 thieves have done over 400 points of damage and we have our tank (PLD) standing there scratching his head and wondering why he can't pull aggro.

i would think that 6 beastmasters would get close to no experience though, don't they sacrifice experience for their pets?

The formula for XP for an INDIVIDUAL with a pet is XP*0.7
It does not effect the XP of everyone else in the party.
So say 6 BST with 6 pets killed a mob that would normally give them 100 XP; each BST would get 70 instead.
