Sure we all have to go through the level grind to gain levels but I play to have fun and this night was fun for me...

one of my mules is named Shoppe.
He is a Taru from Bastok. I've taken this toon around the world as a level 1 selling my wares.

One night during the New Years with the Monkeys running around , I walked from Bastok to Selbina. When i got there I started asking people if anyone saw my Monkeys that ran away from home. Some people ignored me and some laughed. my Bazaar message read something like

"Help me! My pet Monkeys have escaped from home. Please use give them one of these items and maybe they will come back home."

So after a little while of hanging out at the Selbina gate. Someone says "hey I think that goblin ate your monkeys."
I look over and someone is being chased into Selbina by a gobby. So i say " GIMME BACK MY MONKEYS MR GOBBY WOBBY"
I then ran up and attacked it....dying in one hit from it of course.
I waited a little bit just laying there face down. Eventually I returned to Bastok.

ahhh, it was a fun waste of a couple hours. ^^

I later returned as my main character with some of the same people standing around. Deciding to role play a bit I started asking them if they had seen a tarutaru named Shoppe around. I said his mother hired me to find him as he was missing from home for some time.
unfortunatley no one wanted to play along with me so I went back to the grind. :(

haha! yeah i like to do things like that. When the monkeys first appeared I would sit by the Outpost in the dunes for a while waiting on friends or an invite or whatever. To pass the time I watched the newer players (didn't want to use the phrase noob... you could just tell that they were new to the game) chase the monkeys around. Occasionally I would shout out something like "RUN!!! THE MONKEYS ARE LEVEL 70 AND THEY AGGRO TO EMOTES!! THEY CAST POISON!!!" The people would scatter like cockroaches when you turn the kitchen light on it was hilarious!

i did this once for fun, but my brother made a macro for it, you do:

/em Examines you.
/wait 5
/em steals 5 gil

newbies get really mad when you do that, and more advanced players just laugh, but either way, if you do it by an AH, you get some sort of response

I amuse myself while waiting for mages to med by having a staged catfight with another mithra in my party ^^

You can do some fun stuff with macros and emotes, hehe

Funny stuff. I pulled a minor prank on a new guy running a white mage in Windurst. You know how white mages will sometimes cast Cures and Protects on anything that passes by, just to build their skill. Well, this low-level white mage cast Cure on me as I ran by. So I ran a few more steps, stopped and did the /stagger emote.

Five seconds later I received a tell from the guy, apologizing profusely and explaining he was just practicing his skills. I assured him I was just messing with him. He was relieved, and I got a great laugh out of it.

i did the "/em steals something from someone" also for a while. got some funny responses. one guy said, "man, that's just wrong". hehe

another thing i do is talk to NPCs out loud, such as "NPC, I wish to deliver these items. Thanks for taking care of it!!"
