Most usless spells in the game .....Follow

#1 Jan 20 2004 at 4:57 PM Rating: Decent
For my part . Im having trouble figuring out what use my DRK will ever have for Absorb CHR at 33rd level . What Im I supposed to do kill something real quick then run into town and sell or buy stuff before the spell wears off .

The definition in the book says :
This attribute is important to Bards and Beastmasters, as it the primary attribute that controls bardic magic and how effective a Beastmaster is when charming a monster .

and we all now it has an effect on selling and buy items from shops . Along with fame.....

So what good does it have for a DRK in combat . Unless you sub or main as BST or BRD .

CHR also determines the effectiveness of your provoke as a Warrior.

I don't think anyone would care much of you skiped this spell though.

How charismatic can a DRK be?? Uhh yeah that is a funked spell

the bar spells a RDM gets arent very useful either. they barely last a single fight.

barsleep is most useless... i still have yet to see it work unless the mob is so low it would have had no effect to begin with. go to kazam sometime, fight a mandragora with barsleep, see for yerself.

The Bar spells are based on your "Enhancement" magical ability. Thus, when they fail, it is probally because the casters skill level is so low. I had my enhancement capped when I went to Valkurm, and resisted 90% of the sheep's sleep manuevers. Lasted for a good 5 minutes.

But I kind of agree. The solo Bar spells arn't that great. If the caster's enhancment skill is high enough, the "Ra" types of Bar spells (WHM area Bar) are very useful (too bad they're not RDM).

What is deoderize good for? (aside from the occasional comical value.)

deoderize means your chance of getting aggrod by smell is lower and also remember things chase by smell when youre out of sight so it helps you escape

My understanding is that the barxxx line of spells prevent the actual spell, not the status. I've actually noticed that Barblindra is rather effective against a goblin caster, whereas Barsleepra has rarely (if ever) prevented that cursed AOE sheep sleep attack. ><

i've never had a chance to actually use Tractor (the one that moves dead bodies) in an actual situation, though i love going to lower level areas and helping people out, and sometimes they die i confuse them by using it. i would have never learned the spell had i not found it off of a Wight in qufim. its a pretty worthless spell though in my opinion

I've seen Tractor used on several occasions. One of the times was when some pt members died in an room full of goblins. From what I recall the gobs spawned at just the wrong time, not allowing my teammates to pull back to the camp. Anyways, the rest of us couldnt beat the gobs so our WHM Tractored them to us and then Raised them.

You're right, it's not too often that this spell gets used, but sometimes it's a real life saver (literally). hehe

I use tractor all the time, its great in places where everything agros by sound as you can just cast sneak and then tractor them to a safe place to raise. Also in places like garliage at lower levels. Your tank fall through one of the holes and die while pulling? Just tractor him up and then to safety

To all the people who complain about the bar spells and the inevitable ones who will complain about the en- spells, you are having problems because your enhancings skills are too low.

Enchancing skill is the most overlooked skill by most casters. It takes work to keep it up (especially at first). Make a macro to spam all of your enhancing spells and start casting them on yourself and others in your downtime. Once you start to get near your cap, you'll start to notice a big difference when using these spells.

Phew!! I was just about to say that!! ^^

My rdm's enhance was capped before heading to kazam.
barsleep dident work at lvl27, dosent work at lvl30.
I spent 10k in various things to block/shorten turnip naptimes. (raising mnd, raising dark defence) and so far nothing seems to work good enough.
All that spells done is remind me how easily one can be seperated from his gill.

if theres any way to make barsleep work reliably, I havent figured it out.

I dunno much about barsleep but I do know that barstone in quifim is great against land worms. I take about 50% less damage.

I'm not sure how barsleep works. I don't know if it lessons the chance that you be put to sleep or if it lessons the time that you are asleep. Sounds like an interesting experiment. I'll be in kazam soon so I guess I'll find out :)

barsleep lessens the time you stay sleeping
#19 Jan 21 2004 at 5:18 PM Rating: Decent
When I first got Barsleep, it actually worked the times I used it against low Pygmioi in Tahrongi Canyon. They're sleep didn't catch me. Now, however, it never does squat. I cast it before sheep fights in Valkurm and I'm still out for a few minutes. So I think it's just that Barsleep's only good against the lower level critters.
But the other Bar-spells work pretty well for me. If I cast Barpoison after a fly decided I needed to lose some life, it seems to run out faster. It's not instantaneous like Poisona (Except that one time, and I'm pretty sure it was a fluke ^_^), but it still gets the job done. And the Bar Elements just do wonders against elementals and other casters (assuming you know what they cast).

I've confirmed this. I got to Kazam yesterday and cast barsleep on me (I don't have barsleepra) and I was always waking up first (and casting cures to wake everyone else up).
