Determining Steal for thief.Follow

Found something interesting or purely coincidental last night while farming. For the last few days ive been farming cotton from the mandragora's. Every 5 mins while farming other mobs I would always be sure to go up to a mandragora and use my thief steal on it. 90-95% of the time i would get a my cotton from them.

Last night same drill but i figured id buy and use a staff for my monk since my h2h is maxed, use something else and level it. I was out for about 3 hours and not once was I able to steal from a mandragora. But as soon is my weapon skill got to lvl 22 I started stealing pretty much every time from that point on.

You think this is just coincidence? Seems like there was a direct result to my ws to my steal success on them. Even though im a lvl 30monk\15thief. Thoughts?
