Servers Down Again???Follow

Well, looks like the POL servers are down again today, anyone have any info about why/how long this is gonna be happening?

They anounced an emergency maintenance due to some flaws in the server. It will start on 4PM GMT time and duration is 4hours (can varie).

sigh... little math people. Ok maintenance starts 20min from now. Duration is around 4hours. So that will be:

12PM PST
3PM EST
5AM JST(japanese time)
8PM GMT

I don't know about CST.

EST is GMT - 5 hours.

4PM GMT - 5 Hours makes start time 11 AM EST (10 mins in the future from now) and the end time 3PM.

Under daylight savings time, EDT would be GMT - 4 hours.

Could someone explain what the numbers after the S and R stand for?

I have around 200/200 (playing from sweden)

But in Qufim with around 150-200 players all the time it can go as high as 200/1000 sometimes..

S= Sent Data
R= Received Data

Yes, they obviously stand for Send/Receive, but Send/Received WHAT?

I've heard that it's packets/second, and also I've heard that it's trip time to SEND to server, then the lag RECEIVING from the server.

I've not heard anyone actually prove what it is, just more rumor and hearsay. Someone have a link that perfect explains it, not just more hearsay?

alright... .the server went down while i was still in the game...

now i tried to log on before and i got to the select a character screen. And then i saw my character with gear i had not equiped him with... (i just upgraded his armor and such and he wasnt wearing it at all, but instead the armor he was wearing before the upgrade... which in itself is strange cuz i sold that old armor on the AH!) so after logging off POL and relogging i see the same thing... then after about 4 tries the server shuts down completely.... which is where we are now...
so my question is, has this happened to anyone else, and if so,.... is my character completely screwed??!!

No, I doubt it. One of two things has happened:

1) The screen is still showing the old character data it had before you logged in because it can't contact the server for the updated data (i.e. it's cached data).


2) Sense you didn't have the opportunity to logg out correctly, the most recent changes to your character may not have been saved. In this case, you should still have your old armor, money, etc. and can buy it again.

I really think that #1 is much more likely though.
