Qufim Leveling not going well!Follow

#1 Jan 19 2004 at 6:06 PM Rating: Decent
takes forever to get invited, partys usually dont have a white mage, very poor xp from land worms or clippers, tons of downtime, leveling in the Dunes up to level 20 was never this hard! if anyoen has any suggestions to make leveling in Qufim easier then by all means do tell.

Form your own party. Not only that, but do it in Jueno. You can still look in Qufim and see who is available, and you avoid the chaos of people running across the zone and dying while trying to meet you.

Also, most pickup parties in Qufim usually come about like so:

Two different crappy parties are having no luck. Each disbands and the members intermingle...forming two more crappy parties. This process goes on all the time and finding a balanced party is rare in Qufim.

If you want a balanced party you either need to do it yourself, or find someone who you know can do it and befriend them with a quickness.

Assuming you want to do it yourself here are some tips:

1- Make sure that the tanks are the same level or higher than the mages. Otherwise they will take more damage and hit less than they should, and downtime will increase.

2- Always fill the important spots first. These include Tank (PAL or WAR), healer (WHM or RDM) and damage dealer (almost everything else).

3- Assign Renkei, debuffs, Tanking and pulling before the group begins to fight.

4- Have the Healer tell the puller (and there should only be one) what a safe level of mana is to pull at.

5- Do not be afraid to kick someone if they are being an ***, or are just plain incompetent. If they seem new, then try to show them the ropes.

6- Do not be a tyrant. Make suggestions rather than orders, but also make it clear that you are the leader. Listen to your group, and don't be afraid to ask if they know a better camp spot or renkei.

7- When looking for new members send a tell first listing your group level and composition

If you are opposed to forming your own group there isn't much that you can do. Always make sure that your comment is set with your TNL, vital stats and things like whether you have a Kazham pass or need your subjob items.

If you are not getting invites do a /sea all of people your level and start asking if there is room for your job/level.

Hope that helps...

Had 2 very different experiences of qufim so far!

1. Tried to start a group in qufim with an LS member, got 5 people eventually but couldnt find a WHM in 45 minutes so the party ended up disbanding.

2. Sittin in Port Jeuno with my LFG tag up, got an invite, 10 minutes later had a party of 6 (4 Japanese 2 English), went to qufim and got 4k exp in the hour we had the party including a chain of 4 ITs.

Hmm... I've heard lots of bad stories about Qufim, but I never really had a big problem there. I've levelled there on about 4 separate occasions, and only once was the EXPing less than stellar (just now; and I still made about 1800 EXP -- the WHM had to leave). I think the suggestions above are good, but the most important one is definitely that you should fill the important spots (e.g., WHM!) first. Definitely look in Jeuno first. Why? Because you can do searches quickly there using:

/sea region 21-23 (or whatever number you need)

This will search all the Jeuno areas. From Jeuno, you can also do

/sea qufim 21-23

And that will cover all of Qufim (since it's just one area). If you are in Qufim, you have to individually search the 4 Jeuno areas, and that's no fun. So stay in Jeuno until you've got your core party members. Don't be afraid to /tell WHMs or whoever even if they're not flagged (as long as they're not in party already) -- just be polite. And, finally, if you get invited, before accepting ask whom they have already.

It's not that bad. Keep it up, you'll be fine! I had all the same concerns.

Persevere!! Patience.

Those are the best advice i can give.

When i first got to Qufim i had nothing but bad experiences, bad groups, bad XP, long waits for groups etc.

I kept calm, was cool with all the people i met, and i found that in each bad group i was in i would meet 1 or 2 good players over time i started grouping up with those people and seeking them out and after that the XP flew by and had a great time. Its all about networking :)

part of it is timing...if you can get in just 1 hr before or after your normal time, youll find groups a little easier. people are logging in at a certain time (eg after school or work) and those get snatched up. later they leave. in between that time, the groups are full, the stragglers aren't enough to make a decent group, etc.

plus based on your description of getting bad exp, you might be on the low end level of the group make-up. around mid-20s it's really important b/c if you're high, the rest of the group can't take the same mobs you do and you dont want just toughs (to them, VT or IT). if you're low, then you can't take the IT mobs (very IT to you, b/c it's IT to the highest lvl in your group)

Stop crying ... im lvl51 paladin since 3 weeks ago ... im still lv51.

why ? theres just no lvl50-60 and they are all ***.

And the bad thing is ... i speak french -_-*

What i do ... ? quest missions etc ... rank6 doing cash over 200k on equip etc.

At qufim you only have to find whm and form pt. Very easy for the amount of ppl there's in qufim.

OK lvling in qufim ... lv20-22 ... kill and chain worms at the lake ... the most possible ... try to take the most possible and if its not possible ... leave them ... no worry worms cannot run.

lv22-24 go for Clippers

lv24-26-7 kill pugils ... at the begainning if clippers are still worth it ... chain 3 of them and chain 4 a it pugil and you'll get lof of xp.

this is all for quifm dont kill accrophies ... unless you want ruby ... it not worth it.

And finaly ... ppl will remember you as good leader and will invite you in teams "this is what appenned to me."
