Thought you might like to know of a quick way to get around vana d'iel (in case you didn't already know)!

Let's say you are on a quest that you have to take the dreaded trip from Mhuhara to Selbina or vice versa,. And you have your HP set in your home town (or any city for that matter) - (This is the key to the whole thing). You complete your quest ot task and you want to return to your home point, but cannot warp and dread the time you will waste returning home. Well.. that is no longer a problem! You can now use the Vana d'iel express! Just change into a Level 1, 0xp job and go outside and take on any mob and let it kill you! Finally you can look forward to dying!

You then respawn at homepoint, change back jobs and you are good to go, now loss!

One word of caution! Ensure you check what homepoint you are bound to before attempting this! It would suck to get stuck out in hte middle of nowhere with your Level 1 job!

This can be done by clicking menu > status > profile. Your current home point will be listed.

Happy travels!

Good enough plan except it you cant change jobs in either Selbina or Mhuara.

And i dont know about most people but im from Windurst and if i have to goto Sandy oh to do quest i usually bind in Sandy Oh just in case i goof up and get myself killed that way i dont have to get on a choco all the way back. Thats just me.

But it is a good way to get back in certain circumstances.

quit posting this retarded crap. This has been in game forever.

Well excuse me for trying to help out the people who don't know this. You should really check ones rank before suggesting that they just learned something. Are you Rank 5+? If not, STFU! We don't need non-constructive comments like yours when we try to help the less knowledgable. I post things like this to help out the newer or less hardcore players; not for people who are higher leveled! Do you suggest we should just say F**K the general populous and only help our own LS n00b people?

Meh to you!

I hate to admit this but..I'm a 28 THF that has travelled all over the world. My HP is in San, and I've found myself in Windurst a lot. What did I do? Use an instant warp. Never clicked I could just suicide.

Thanks. I guarantee there are others who never knew this.

My pleasure Vince, thank you for the feedback. I hope this post will help many others as well. BTW - feel free to rate this post up as the **** who flamed me rated it down pretty bad!

I still say "meh" to him!

I've done the same as Vince... You just don't think about switching to a Level 1, you know? (Thank god I've only ever used 1 Warp scroll).

Yeah really Sotonin. Why the attitude??

I am a lev 28 Warrior and had not heard of this or thought of it. You can certainly pity me, but I appreciate the poster for bringing this to my attention.

You must have been one of the kids in class that made other kids scared to ask questions. What a guy.

Chher up! Your life is almost 1 more day over with. You have 1 less day of it to endure now.

Sheesh

Sorry but this is a pretty lame brain discovery and post.
The poster makes it sound like this will help those of us who travel to mhaura or selbina, but in fact this little "method" is worthless in most instances.
If you travel to mhaura by chocobo and then selbina by boat. You won't be able to warp back without first going on foot all the way to a major city like Jeuno or San D'oria...which is stupid because you might as well run back to Windurst then if that's where your homepoint is!!! ??

The wording of the post is also misleading saying "now we can *************************** could do this since day 1.
This isn't some new thing....
its the poor man's warp...people were talking about it in my linkshell the first week the game was out in NA

#10 Jan 19 2004 at 7:45 PM Rating: Decent
I think the key point there is that they were talking about it on YOUR linkshell on YOUR server... The guy just wanted to put some helpful advice up on Allakhazam where lots of people from lots of linkshells on lots of servers come for information. You shouldnt call him a lame brain for trying to put up helpful advice.

1) Remember that each time you 'ghetto warp', your nation takes a hit in the conquest tally. In other words, no one from San d'Oria is allowed to ghetto warp! I forbid it! But other nations? Feel free to ghetto warp all day long! (evil cackle)

2) I'd suggest that people do the supply quest/telportation routes as much as possible - it's helped me out quite a bit already even to have just four regions activated. Even though control of the region shifts every now and then, it's a lifesaver to have in areas without a Moogle. I remember having a train of goblins on me in Valkurm, and I ran to the outpost and teleported back to San D.

From what I understand, sub-level-5 deaths do not affect conquest results. If someone knows the contrary, let me know.

i agree, being lvl 5 and below..u did u don't affect the conquest points.
I mean if you wanna be sure, just forget about signet, go out there and TRY to kill the IT gob and just ghetto warp back :)

not affecting the conquest points whatsoever

#16 Jan 19 2004 at 10:47 PM Rating: Decent

I have played FFXI for 2 weeks now and so I didnt know this could be done because im still a total noob. This is definately new info to me. For that I am very appreciative to the author for this. I dont know if Ill ever use the info, but its worth knowing. I love asses that feel the need to flame others for trying to help peole or share something they know. Maybe the title was a little misleading, but still, no intentional harm was done.
So chill the **** out Sotonin.
