Is it worth it? Advice needed.Follow

Hello,

I’ve been considering purchasing this game for a while now, but I’m not sure if I’ll like it. I played EverQuest for about 2 years and have been playing Star Wars Galaxies since it’s release date. I'm like the freedom of SWG, but I kind of miss the level based system of EQ.

I’m looking for a game I can play pretty casually, since I don’t plan on giving up SWG. Do you think the game is conducive to a casual play style? Do you like the level system? And most important, is it fun?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

FFXI is a good game. No bugs, no glitches nothing. Its got a lot of missions and quests that actually mean something. I find the more i look the more i find.

At times it has frustrated me to no end, being forced to group after lvl 15ish, some quests just take forever, the control in the beginning.

But once you give it a try and get past these it really is a good solid game, im in love, i canceled my DAOC account.

You wont find the customability for char creation like in SWG but i think this is much much better game overall.

yes, the game is very well suited to the casual gamer (as long as u dont mind paying $12.95/month) as well as the frenetic leveler; u wont be left in the dust if all ur friends pass u up cause there are always hundreds of people in ur lvl range online in ur server at any given time

when i heard about FFXI, the first thing i looked up was "do they have subjobs?" and BINGO: yes

subjobs make the game infinitely more interesting and varied; without subjobs, there would be 15 different job combinations; with subjobs, there are 225 combinations, not to mention 5 different races, which would make it 1800 combinations (counting male/female separately)

o yes ^^

Well worth it. Before you know it you won't mind paying for 2 characters and when you can't play you will be on these boards bragging about good days, and crying about bad. At least that is what happened to me :)

That's something I love about this game. In EverQuest, the newbie population slowly thinned out, until you couldn't get a group under 50 to save your life in the end. This game keeps all levels of the population healthy.

the reason that theres such a good level range is the whole job system. each class must be leveled seperately, therefore you find even very experienced players at lower levels because they either started a new job or are leveling up their sub jobs.
