Just showing my ignorance , but some things just make me crazy.

1. Why is auto-stack items not the default??
(How much usless clicking would this get rid of?)

2. Sun Glare Don't get me wrong I think it's a good thing BUT
Sun Glare comming up out of the ground? or when your under
ground? or in a building ??

3. What the hell is a Handle and why do I need one?

4. Why are 90% of the birds PINK! (a pink Vulture??)

5. Why do I have to abandon my Chocobo? I want my own to
feed ride etc.

All of these are excellent questions, and I'm pretty sure they will be addressed in future patches (hopefully soon)

1. WERD!!!!!

2. Doesn't look like that's every going ot be fixed. It's hardcoded. Unfortunatly, most of the sun glare is off. Sometimes, you'll be walking/running away from the sun, yet you'll catch a little glare.. off the grass.

3. Still not sure about this one.

4. It's enough to make you wanna' throw up. Windurstians don't have this initial problem until they travel further north. Bastokians get these birds right out the gate, and San D'orians find em' in the plateau. Sadly enough, they're all over the game. Vana'Diel has been invaded by angry flamingoes.

5. Exsactly. This sounds like something they'll do in an expansion. However, I can forsee a long and painful quest or a large cash sum.

1. To reduce the value of unattended macroing tho obviously people just write scripts to auto stack then.

I can answer question number three. A "handle" is your player name.

For example.

My handle/player name is Kipsy, but my character names are Yomiku, Pikyoyo, Zetsubou, and Kyoku. Now, evferyone who wants to be friends with me, will be a friend with the Handle/Player name, so whenever I'm playing, no matter what character I'm playing, they can see me online.

Does that answer your question?

Another question. Why is that we have to untarget everything to kneel (heal), but, we can target the same thing/person/mob again as soon as we are actually down?

This one drives me nuts (although I would be first to admit perhaps I don't know something here - and maybe it is possible to keep a target and still /heal so I don't have to immediately retarget again?).

As to the 'handle' question/answer, a friend of mine made a character with a handle (same name). Then he made a second character and did not change the original handle (so he 'answered' to the original character's name if I were to send a tell). The 'handle' was on my friend's list, and when he had that character online, it displayed there as expected. What I also found though, was that, when he was online with his second character (who I could not put on my 'friend's list' because the system saw them both as the same person), I could not see when that 2nd character was online - using my friend's list display at any rate. That defeated the purpose for us, so eventually he just gave his second character a different handle and then I was able to make him a friend and could see when he was on. I don't blame people for being confused! LOL

My 'experiment' above doesn't quite jive with what the previous poster said either, does it? I suppose you can talk to the owner of a number of characters, using a single name, no matter what character they have online at the time, however, unless you make separate handles for each character, people can't tell if you are online in order to initiate a tell, etc. I think.

With a "tell" you're talking to the character. You can't send a tell to "kipsy" but you can send a tell to any of my 5 characters. You should be able to look in your friends list, and it will have the name, followed by the character name like "Kipsy/Pikyoyo/Sarutabaruta"

#2 - i found this problem as well, however, it only occured after i disabled bump mapping. so if you try fiddling with your graphic settings, you may find a combination that fixes this. (I have everything enabled/set at highest quality, and i no longer get the sun glare through the floor)

Because it's faked so it won't take 30 minutes per frame to calculate. It looks right most times, but as with all realtime 3D they are using visual tricks to try and simulate it, not actually calculating the effects the way a 3D rendering program would (and even they fake it, they just do a more accurate job of faking it)

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

If you're clicking to auto everything then you deserve to do the extra clicks. The mouse is the devil.
