Bazzar Guide - So you want to make money?Follow

#1 Jan 18 2004 at 3:46 AM Rating: Good
Im writing this post because of the numerious people I have seen with a complete missunderstanding of how the bazzar works.
Aproximatly 50% of the people who have set up a bazzar do not know how to determine the bazzar price. So i will explain in the following.

STEP 1. Price determination
First step to determing the prices of the goods your going to sell. The best way to find the price which you should be selling your items for is to check your local Auction House. Make sure that you check the price of the items in the defalt color. The items listed in Red are "cost per stack" where a stack is 12 of that item. If you must use an an item listed in red to determine your prices, make sure you divide the price by 12 to get the "cost per item".

STEP 2. Setting the prices at your Bazzar
Now you know the average sales price, its time to set up your Bazzar. This is where i see most people going wrong. Go to the Bazzar menu and select an item you wish to sell. When allocating a price to that item, be sure to allocate the "cost per item" value. This is done because people can choose the number of the stacked item they wish to purchase and are not restricted to purchasing the entire stack. It is good to check the bazzar and refresh the value of your goods each day to ensure you are selling your goods at the best price.

STEP 3. Finding a good place to sell
There are a number of good places to sit and wait for people to come buy your goods. Any place that attracts regular idle player traffic is a good place to wait.
The best places include;
- At the Auction House
- At the Residential area
- At the outpost's

STEP 4. The waiting game
Differant hours of the game attract differant customers, so choose which time of the day you find you sell more of your goods. If you have to stop playing for an hour to two, sit your character down at your favorite Bazzar spot and turn your monitor off. This is a great way to minimise the boredom of sitting and waiting for people to buy your goods. Alternativly, if you can afford it, you can synthisise more goods to sell.

For those of you who want to go AFK for extended periods of time, but cant seem to stay connected you need to turn the Auto-disconnect option to OFF. You can do this by going to Menu#2 > Config > Global > and clicking on the OFF button in the "Auto-disconnect" section

I hope this has helped some of the people who may be wondering why people are not buying there earth crystals for 500-1000gil per crystal.

Excellent post!

I've explained to several people who have one earth crystal for sale at 500 gil that no one is going to buy it.

Sometimes they catch on quick, others have accused me of trying to scam them.

I would only suggest that people circulate their items between auction house and bazaar that aren't selling. Keeping an item that isn't selling in either place needs to be considered why that is.

I usually put "rare" items up for auction, and items that are of lower value in my bazaar.

If I am traveling in between places, I may put something I've found up in my Bazaar.

Good post.

hehe,

I Love my Mule..

Elvaan Warrior.. never left Bostok..ever.. never even had a weapon equiped... he just lounges arount town all day...

I am usually pretty selective with my 'spot'. When I am selling normal run of the mill junk.. (meats, bulbs, hides) I usually sit in the same spot near the Residential Area... Although I see people making the mistake of posting their guy right next to the entrance... this is bad because when people leave their houses hey usually zone a few 'feet' away from the entryway..and cannot see who is around.... That's half of your customers gone already.. I put mine.. allitle ways back..and have him situated where both people leaving and entering the Res.Zone can see me...

If I have items that are money-makers.. or I have a good deal going on.. I usually make my guy stand-up.. If I have crap.. i kneel.. far in the corner.... I'm not expecting people to "catch-on" to my little obsessive patterns.. but it' fun..

Now if I have items tht I KNOW people will wnat o buy... andI need to get rid of them quick. I'll sit..somewhere in-between the Gate, the AH, and the Res.Zone.. this way everyone is more likly to check my wares... even if they are from another country. 'cause it's usually only ntives at the Res.Area I believe this type of positioning gets you the most Checks.. But I don't abuse that area... like I said it's only if I have somthing good.. other wise.. i suspect people will easily begin to see my guy as just another ignorable NPC with nothing to offer.

Another good thing.. is to Bazzaar quest items right near the NPC who gives the quest..

Bla BLa Bla, back to work...

I think a good adition to this game would be to add color coding to your bazaar sacks. Maybe 1 color for each of the guilds.

This way, if Im doing a lot of goldsmithing, I can do a quick scan of the bazaars open for sacks that are colored 'gold' or whatever. Blacksmithing would be grey, leather craft would be brown, etc.

Then have the option for every color or no color on your bag if you are selling mixed items.

Focused sales.

My only addition/complaint would be to keep as far away from the AH Counter as possible. In San D'Oria we have a big problem with people that have bazaars open that just camp right next to the AH. The problem here in lies that one, it boggs people down big time. 2. people can't distinguish between who has a bazaar and who doesn't.

I started my career in San D then by lvl 2 went to Windurst with the aide of a cousin. I spent the next RT week in Windurst. At the main AH people just sat against the back wall, no big deal. I then returned to San D' to see litterally 30 or 40 people just sitting on top of others by the AH. I have a hard time doing business with either at the San D AH because people are crawling all over. There are plenty of places to camp for AH, pick some where else other than the main AH!

I agree w/ you about people always crowding around the AH in San d'Oria to sell their goods. I get a ton of lag everytime I go to visit the AH. That's why I usually use the upstairs AH most of the time. But seriously, if you're running a bazaar in San d'Oria please don't crowd around the AH. And to all of you who do run bazaars in front of the AH, when there are 50 people all selling stuff in the same area, you don't stand out in the crowd, SO MOVE TO A LESS CROWDED SPOT!!!

Another peice of advice. If you are selling stuff people need in the field, Mithkabobs, Pies, Juices, head out to Maruha/Selbina, you can even jack up the price a little since very few people will want to run back to town when they run out.
