Why I hated FFVIIIFollow

I had a mod chip in a PS at the time of the japanese release so I ordered a copy from Japan. Well I can't read japanese so I was just hoping to see a little somethin somethin and have bragging rights to my friends who were also ff nuts. Well sadly enough I made it to the third disc and that was without knowing a single word that was spoken. For an RPG that is insanely pathetic. The world map was real big but it didnt have much of anything to do. When it finally did hit the states I rented it just to see if I had missed anything..... NOPE, still sucked. And i learned how much of a dumbass Squall really was. The whole "I'm too cool to dig a chick" thing was uber annoying. I was beginning to think he really liked Zell or something.. Yeesh! Ultimicia also didnt hold a candle to Sephiroth as far as bad guys go. The only thing this game had going was the FMV graphics. The card game was ok so for those of you who ended up just playing the card game I cant blame ya. By the end of the game I honestly didnt give a crap about any of the characters but Rhinoa. Poor thing went through hell loving a dumbass like squall. So now you all know what I think of eight and if I see someone with an FFVIII spinoff name in FFXI I stay as far away from them as possible. They are the FMV fed zombies I hate most in the gaming world. Okay, flame away!

yea, i never understood the hate towards ff VIII. It isn't the best final fantasy but it definitly didn't suck. Maybe I was just distracted by Edea's hottness =)

Just addressing all the Squall clones and whatnot. Sry

1.Squall was a whiny b itch.

2.Who ever the main bad guy was wasnt that bad because i dont remember him/her.

It was okay game, i recognize that a follow up to FF7 is tough(then again FF7 had to come out after FF3). I dunno i feel FF8 and FF9 were nothing special. When i got done playing FF2,3,7 and Tactics i was like "wow" and "whew". After all the time and effort i was kinda sad to be done with it. I didnt get that feeling from FF 8 or 9 ,Nine was a good game, but i dont remember the main nemesis 2 years after beating it or many of the characters or stuff like that, meanwhile i remember Kefka, Sephiroth, Golbez, etc.

Dunno maybe its just cause im getting old. I hardly play vid games anymore. I did like FFX even though it was quite the departure from usual set up. I dunno, it takes more than Black mages, chocobos and moogles to make a FF game, i need a good group of characters that i actually like (Squall sucked long and hard) and villians that i love to hate.
