How hard is it...Follow

#1 Jan 14 2004 at 8:59 PM Rating: Decent
Really, how hard is it to get a Advanced Job? Not any specific one class or anything... I read posts about people who just nudge it off their shoulder, but when I ask specifically, they say it is really hard. Like 2 hours? Or like 10 days?

Nothing really specific... I heard Summoner is the hardest, but the longest? What is "long"?

Summoner isnt the hardest, summoner just takes time.

Ninja would be my guess for "hardest", or maybe samurai. You really need to get help from higher level players on those. And in the ninja case, also invest a bout 45000 gil.

Took me that much money, and about 2 days to get ninja. And I knew what I was doing too.

I'd say Dragoon is tied with Samurai for difficulty and time required, as these two require long travels and hard boss fights. Though I'd say that Samurai is the hardest due to the trips to Norg and the fact that two boss fights are needed.

Hardest
Samurai > Dragoon > Ninja > Paladin > Summoner

Bard, Ranger, Darknight and beastmaster are rather easy.

Thanx for the replys guys good info, but Again no one answers the question at hand. He wants to know how long in clock time 1 hour 10 days. I have not done any yet so i cant help you out. But good luck 5 more lvls and i will head out for my Advanced job.

How can that be answered? All the advanced jobs are different, many depend on luck or what your old job was (for instance, being a white or red mage lets you go anywhere easily). The question cannot be answered as hours or days. Ninja, for instance, takes factioning. Summoner takes the random chance of finding a rare drop - I got mine in ten minutes solo, I was lucky, others have tried for days and gotten nothing.

There isn't a job out there that can't be finished in three hours (if not less) given the right kind of preparation, help and luck. (for instance, getting the fame or getting the ruby before pursuing the job).

So: three hours. more if things don't go perfectly.

Beastmaster is the easiest advanced job, just takes running from Jeuno to Qufim and back. Took me about ten minutes start to end.

When I ask how hard it is, or how much time, I mean roughly.

Someone said 2 days. 2 days of how many hours per-day? If I can play about 8 hours per day, how many days would it take to complete the Ninja quest? The Dark Knight quest? If you don't know exactly, estimate, please!

DRK takes about 5-6 hours (I think), much less if your main job is WAR. Talk to a guy, go in some mines, get a sword... Then you have to kill 100+ guys with a 3dmg 688delay sword that can only be equiped by a WAR. Pretty friggin boring, but DRK is pretty cool. After that you go on a chocobo ride for 10 minutes... and you are done...If i remember right.

I could see it getting done in about 2-3 hours if you had a high lvl WAR, but for people like me who were BLM it takes a while.

I've been told by several people that with a Chocobo and a knowledge of the quest and areas I have to pass through I should be able to grab Bard in around 30 minutes of hard work. ((which means I have to do the very abnormal thing for a WHM to do... stop talking and concentrate on the task at hand when not in a group))

I was told that if you know exactly what you're doing, BST is even quicker.
