lvling,,,and sub-jobs?Follow

#1 Jan 14 2004 at 1:29 PM Rating: Decent
quick question. i have been lvling three different jobs, but i have yet to actually do the sub-job quest. all three jobs are only lvl 10/whm, lvl 11/blm, lvl 9/thf. so heres my question, when i do decide to lvl my blm up to lvl 18, will i get to assign my lvl 10/whm to him immeadiatly, or will it drop back down to lvl 1 for some reason? i will apologize in advance for sounding like a "newb" or "n00b", (whatever people want to classify it as.)

Your WHM will be capped at level 9 for your 18BLM - the subjob is capped at half your main job's level.

However, your WHM will not lose any levels. It will be level 10 again when you switch back to WHM as your main job. In addition, when you hit 20BLM, your subjob will then be capped at level 10, so you'll have 20BLM/10WHM.

Nope.
You can use only the skills your WHM would have learned up till his cap. So even if you have him to 12, you wouldn't be able to use those lvl 12 spells until your main job was 24.

Being capped at a level means that all magic and combat abilities will be capped at that level, along with all spells and job traits and abilities.

If you're a 30 Warrior with a 70 great sword ability and you sub Warrior, Drk/War, you will only be able to use a first level Drk's cap with the great sword. You won't get provoke or any other bonuses until your subjob reaches the required level.

Also, even though you may have had a 10th level black mage with a high elemental magic skill, you'll only be able to use the first level's max amount.
