Will this work for Untradable items?Follow

My brother and I were duoing in Bub Pen. last night. We already have our sub job quest done, and get loads of Bull Dhamel Spit that goes to waste.

If we are grouped, and the item falls into the "treasure" box before it is distributed to one of us.

Can we invite a person into the group, and then they can lot the item while we both pass on it and actually get it? Or do you need to be in the group at the time of the drop?
