Key hunting can be frustrating.... but I think it's tons of fun...
My 34THF friend and I (33WHM/BLM) have found sets of keys for lots of people while raking in tons of gil from item and gil drops. It's worthwhile for us because we are making money and it's also fulfilling because we know we're helping someone. Too bad you're not on my server.
The best advice I can give is:
use the /search function in the game to find someone with either a high 20's THF main or at least a 15+ THF sub job (possibly a WAR/THF).
/search all thf 25-75
will find all non-anon thieves of at least level 25 who are currently on your server.
Searching for the subbed thief is a little trickier... just experiment with the /search function...
The thief's treasure hunter ability will greatly reduce the time it takes to find keys while increasing gil and item drops, and the two of you should be able to easily kill the monsters that drop keys.
