A new job...Follow

#1 Jan 14 2004 at 12:48 AM Rating: Decent
What other jobs do you think they should add in a upcoming expansion?

Maybe more special-based character only, like a Rogue. Kind of like a thief, but relies mainly poisons or gasses or maybe explosives(?). Some kind of sabotage. I dunno.

Any ideas?

not to flame or anything, but i doubt theyll add in a rogue class, which is usually a mix between theif and archer, or somewhere along that line. they probably wont add another class that can full substitute 2 jobs.

one thing i would like to see is maybe a gambler class..they have goblin gamblers, why cant we have gamblers? or jesters. with that being said, u can picture the world flooded with taru and galkas jesters.....

/em shivers..

I can think of so many more classes I would like to see that are actually present in the FF games instead of a rehashed version of a thief....

Couldn't you pretty much make this class by going Ranger/Thief?

Then you'd have the bow skills normally associated with a rogue, along with the thieving skills to a degree.

I'd love to see:

Blue Mage
Gambler
Elementalist (though I don't think the FFTA version is remotely workable in game)
Alchemist

you get the idea...

Because a goblin gambler is a RDM and you can already play one of those.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

What about tinkerer or smithy? Why can't we players use bomb toss too? ;)

I'd really like to see a class with inherent CRAFTING/TRADESKILL bonuses etc, or maybe the opportunity to utilize common items/junk in combat (throw stuff like in FF7, or use magic on items like the healer girl from Wild Arms)

I like the idea of a gambler class, although I don't consider myself particularly lucky. I'm surprised, though, that whenever the thought of a gambler class comes up, people automatically jump straight to Cait Sith. Why not the most badass FF gambler of all - Setzer? From FF3(US), he had his own airship, attacked enemies with slots, and threw gil at enemies as a special attack. Badass.

I'd like to see a class that utilizes that "Enemy Skill" abilities in the past FF's. A class based solely on the ability to use skills (ie: Bomb Toss, Arm Guard, etc.) as a tactic in fighting. Or a copycat effect...something along those lines. They could call the job "Mime" :p

Or they could throw my idea out ;p

you rite a "mime" class would be great the only downfalls you could only use /em commands and every thing evan pt members would be aggro twards you

After reading more than a few of these posts, I have to ask. Doesnt a high level Beastmaster get the ability to tell his pet mob to use their special attack? There's your Blue Mage. :) I haven't leveled my Beastmaster yet so if one would chime in here.

In my opinion, they haven't left much room for adding classes. And I'm not trying to discourage anyone from posting as they wish, but have the people posting these tried the existing advanced classes yet? Maybe I'm in the minority here but I'd like to level these classes before needing yet another.

I'd even like to see two support jobs before a new advanced class. RDM/NIN/THF would be awesome!! Just make this quest insanely difficult. But seriously, I want some time to take in what's already been laid out. I feel bad sometimes when I read these posts because I think I'm missing something. There's so much to do in this game that I can't fathom adding another expansion to the mix. Is everyone else already this bored?

Hi... I'm a mithra. Cait Sith (or rather his puppet) was a cat on top of a nother doll. Makes more sense for me to jump to him ^^
