This is the text I entered into the subject box:
<anglebrace> and >greaterless< &test& <test>

Different from the title as it appears in the forum? I think there's an error in the webcode... (Sorry, I'm a webdev, I have to test it). :)

Okay, here are the issues:

1. Whoever wrote the function that escapes special characters in the thread title confused the greater-than and less-than signs.

2. The special characters in the thread title of the post viewer are getting "double escaped." So we get this:
>anglebrace< and <greaterless> &test& &g
instead of:
<anglebrace> and >greaterless< &test& <test>

3. There's a max character length imposed on the subject line, but it doesn't account for the fact that special characters get escaped into multiple character strings.

So, come to think of it, when that guy made that thread a while bashing FFXI in comparison to EQ... His mistitle: "EQ<FFXI" was caused by the board software and not his own stupidity. :)
