How much sleep do you FFXI addicts get generally, on a normal work-day..because of this game.
I average on 2.5 a night... wake aroung 6:30AM btw
and when i leave work I'm not in the least bit tired because I'm so ready to play again...
(it all catches up with me eventually though).. usualy during Lunch Break(naptime) at work... Somehow I manage to still retain cognitive functions..... This game has made me realize how strong my will power is.....uhh or weak... depending on how you look at it.
Weekends: heheh... yeah.. sleep?, waht?...

On an average Weeknight I get a good 8 hours sleep ^_^
It just happens to be between 4am and 12 pm (I work nights).
I'll go to bed earlier if I have a bad group or just get bored with the game (I love it but yeah, when you play it every night, sometimes you need a night off ^_^ )

Good thread! Haven't had much sleep since Oct. 29 -- when this game came out!
Once I get home from work at around 6:30 PM, try to get a group together, try to level, go to the AH, etc. etc., it can be 2 AM before retiring for the night, just to get up again at 5:30 AM. Plus, I get on usually every morning BEFORE work just to tie up any loose ends.

Actually I have to exhert serious willpower to go to bed at a reasonable hour as I get up at 5AM. This nets me 6-8 hours per night.
I don't play every night (as much as I would like to) since doing so would net me some serious Wife Agro.

I always go for my ideal 7 hours sleep. Then I play this. Most times, I will get my 7 hours because I am in the midst of soloing/farming. When in a good group, sleep can take a back seat ("What? 2AM? And I have to be in for work at 8? DOH!") but I am lucky that I can do my job mostly asleep with a level of quality that is deceiving because of my apathy to it.....:)
actually i have at less 8 hrs of sleep everyday :) why? my gf drags me to bed every night :P but even without her..i need my sleep to function well the next day :) i hate being sleepy at work and can't sleep =)
Oh I've gone to bed at 3am on a few occasions (ie. have a good group and don't want to get off the exp train). That's 5 hrs of sleep for me, which is not nearly enough. I'd love 8 hours a night, but I never got that, even before FFXI. LOL

I'm getting by on about 6 hours of sleep a night lately.
And I have to force myself to stop playing to get that much sleep!
Have any of you other players also noticed that the "perfect group" always forms up about an hour before you should really go to bed, inevitable causing you to stay up much later than you should??

BTW... during Nap Break at work.... Had my first Dot Hack style Final Fantasy Dream... I was Freakin there... it was pretty cool.... pretty sure it was Windhurst... kooky <^_^> gtg

My Beloved Mule Cingetorix is working in Bostok Markets as I type... I'd calculate he's on the job maybe 15 hours or so a day..... or if I'm off doing the Real Life thing.. he'll be on for a few days straight. He's good because when my main is out in the Wild and not in any position to sell any wares I can just wake up Cingetorix ...so essentially I'm Never logged out.

Sleep ROFLMAO, haven't slept more than 6 hours a night since this game came out.
I get up at 7am each day to work, Work till 5, get home at 6 and login...then i play until i can't keep my eyes open...sometime between 1 or 2 i usually go to bed or 3 or 4 sometimes^^ depending on the party.

i wake up for work at 5:30am.
Play from 6:30pm, with dinner in hand, or maybe take an hour break to cook dinner, then I play from anywhere from 1am to 5:30am when i have to wake up LOL =)....

Me? Well.. Seeing as I live in South Africa and our phone company sucks.. ADSL Is not supported in my Town yet, so I am stuck on 128k ISDN. Another thing is becasue phone bills are so exspensive, I can only afford to play from 19H00-07H00 and weekends. (Still made summoner in 3 weeks yehaw). So yea... Here Goes.
If I work Morningshift :
Log in at 19H00 - 00:00. Go to sleep till 05:00 and get ready for work : Total Sleep 5hrs.
Afternoon Shift :
Get home 23:30, log on till 07:00. Go to sleep at 8:00 wake up at 13:00 get ready for work. 5hr sleep
Nightshift :
Log on from 19H00 to 22:00 :( Go to work. Come home 07:00 sleep from 08:00 to 18:00 (Gets time flying faster to play again :P)
Sleep : 10 hours (Great catching up)
Weekends When I work :
Dayshift : Same as Morning shift
Nighshift. Come home 07:30ish, play till 12:00. Wake up at 17:00 work work. Sleep 5hrs
Off Weekends :
About 6hrs per weekend :P

I get about 12 hours sleep every three days. Of course this is due more to a chemical imbalance in my brain then any game addiction.
At least once a week I go completely without sleep. 3-6hours most other nights depending on how tired I already am. as much as 14-16 hours sleeping in on my day off (usually everyother saturday)
I get my naps in while my THF partner pulls. His ranged attack with <call1> so I now to take my head off the desk. ;)
Seriously though, I usually get a nice 6-8 during the day, but I'm a nightcrew ***** anyway, I'm used to that.

....maybe the chemical imbalance is due to the game addiction?
..got to sleep at 3:30am.. At 3 or so i HAD to log back in and walk my guy back to Windhurst(from Bubu.) so I could send my Items to my Mule and set up my Mule to be bazaaring for the next day..... Now if I could only be so responsible In Real LIFE!! I have bills piling up..yet won't let my AH stand Idle for a Second. pah!

When I started FFXI sleep went from 8 to 7 a night. Now after a month and a half of playing I'm down to 4.5 to 5 a night. Addiction to late night television does not help.
Only when I was trying to get the magicked skull did I push my bedtime from 11pm to midnight. I wake up at 5:30am for my shift, so I need at least 6 hours of sleepy or I'm real b!tchy. And trust me, that's not a good thing. *grins* However, I'm done work at 2:30pm, so I get to play from 2:30 till 11pm. Ahh, how nice it is to have an addicted boyfriend as well.
