I recently bought ffxi a week ago and its a great game but its really hard playing with no sound. For some reason my sound stops working after 2 minutes when i load up ffxi. I'm using win98 with 2400 amd and SiS 7012 audio sound card. if anyone had this problem or knows something, i would highly appreciate the help thx.

Hey man,finally. i have the exact same problem as u with my sound iand i cant seem ta fix it.cuz ur playin wit sound and all of a sudden sound DISSAPEARS.cant find wat ta do tho.
I have the same problem, same sound card as well, on board sound cards suck. Thats what your problem is. Two ways to fix this. Upgrade to winxp, XP will correct the issue. Or reinstall your motherboard software which has the software to your sound card.
This is what helped me, I recommend getting WINXP it runs the game better, if you have WINXP already just roll back the driver and you should be fine.

try to find the latest driver for your sound card and reinstall direct X. There is a driver for direct sound in direct x.
