2 computers, 2 characters, 1 accountFollow

If you have two computers, can you use the same account on both at the same time using difference content IDs(characters)? Or do you need 1 copy per computer?

It seems that you would need two copies of the game. That's the way other online RPG's have been. So correct me if i'm wrong.

Not just two account, but yes 2 copies of the game for registration codes. I'm pretty sure you would get an error if you tried to setup the game as a new user with a pre-existing reg code, but you definately have to have 2 different sets of registration codes.

Correct. In order to utilize and play two characters from your household, you will need two separate PlayOnline accts. Each account can only be signed on at one location at a time. Sorry.

Another question:

If you have installed the game on a computer but then need to format it, is it possible to install the game again and continue with your old character after that?

First question: When the second computer tries to login with the same account, FFXI will boot the first person.

Second question: Yes. The characters are maintained on their servers, not your computer. The only thing you will lose if you don't back them up is your map markers, emotes, and game settings (what is on the config menus).

For the second computter use the guest login, with the other content ID you should be fine.

That doesnt matter. Its not the CDs themselves that have the CD key on them. All the CD key is is a code used by SE to track accounts. Your login ID and password is what is tied to that CD key. Not your CDs.

If it is so then the game can be installed on more than one computer, right? As long as you use the same account at both computers?

Hehe.. I would have not been happy if the 2pc 2 char thing could be done. I did NOT import 5 Copies from America for nothing! Oh well.. Was definately worth it :)

Having 2 accounts and 2 comps is very conveinent...

Farm with one char..... fish with the other.... etc
Make your own party...WHM / WAR.....

If you ever had a problem with ffxi being a little slow for ya, try using 2 characters at the same time. It'll fix you right up. ^^
