Cool Game GlitchesFollow

I would like to start this trhead to find out what cool game glitches other people have encountered in this game so far. I have encountered more than anyone on our LS as of yet, so I have dubbed this new skill my "Neo" skill. (Matrix reference lol)

Here is what I have encountered so far:

1) Sold a backplate at AH and was paid 2x for it - only had 1 listed!

2) Fell off the Airship omw to Kazham - was using a top down view trying to get a better look at the ground and I fell off the edge - people on the ship started saying - wtf - thought you just jumped off! I only fell a few feet and was "walking on air". Moments later, the airship docked in Kazham and I was safely warped onto the dock.

3)On a different trip to Kazham (did not fall off the ship this time lol) However...I had a FULL party with me and jsut walking towards the Jungle, and I fell through the deck! My friend who was right behind me looked for a hole (like the one in Ghelsba or Giddieus (can't remember which it is)), but found none. Then While I was under the deck looking for another way up or a way to zone, I fell in the ocean!! The was uber cool! I have some FFXI scuba picks now with fishies and all! I then walked out into the ocean and found a sand bar - looks like walking on water hehe. Tried logging out, but that did not work, when I got back we called the GM to help. While waiting, the airship docked again so I went to it (from under water) to see what would happen, and when it left, I was teleported safely back onto the dock again. The GM finally came msg'd me and I told him the story.

BTW - I have awesome screen shots to commorate the event lol.

Looking forward to my next "Neo" moment. Anyone else have any "Neo" moments?

I was fighting a sheep in west ronfaure near a tree. All of a sudden the sheep wound up in the tree! It was pretty cool seeing my little taru fighting a sheep stuck in a tree, so I took a few pics of it. =)

while i was sitting up against a wall in 1st person camera view, and the camera switched to the level of my eyes, i pressed NumberKey 5 to change the camera view to 3rd person. now i see two pairs of eyes looking back at me!

it was kinda spooky actually.

(note: the camera views may have been switched in my recollection but try it and see if you get the same thing~)

The tree trick is pretty fun and ez to do (only tried it with tarus sofar but it may work with other races):

First hit the target with a low dmg attack (something like dia), then run to a tree (the tree must not be too thin or too thick). Make yourself parallel to the mob, the tree being directly in between your character and the mob. Keep strafing, always staying parallel to the mob, around the tree. Eventually you will see the mob rise up and it will be in the tree. The mob usually will only stay for a few seconds, or 1 attack. Sometimes it is stuck there tho. If you kill when it is in the tree its corpse will stay there for about 5 seconds, then fall down slowly through the trunk.

You can hit fish and run for a short bit =)

I can stick my pole over tarus and galkas...it's pretty funny, I got my LS member to take a screeny of my bent rod over a taru doing the panic dance.

Priceless.

Yeah I fought a sheep in the highlands and it did its rush attack to me while I was up against the face of the mountain. All of a sudden the sheep was like hovering above my head and I QSed it and it died. It kinda slid down the face before the corpse disappeared looked awesome! BTW PLZ link those screenshots of the underwater stuff on your post I'd love to see that! Kudos for the airship bloopers Im definitely gonna have some fun when i get an airship pass!

The cost of getting Final Fantasy XI?

$50.

The opportunity to view the inside of a Wild Dhalmel?

Priceless.

Here's the pic, 67 KB.

Edited: Honestly, SilentSamurai, I didn't see your use of the word "Priceless" and certainly didn't copy off it.

Check out the insides of a Giant in Qufim or someplace else that has them. Since I'm a slashing RDM Taru, when they would fall, they usually fell right on top of me. Wish I had screenshots.. but its nice to see that they actually put stuff for their insides too!

I was inside the Treants more than a couple of times.

I have pictures of a "Hill lizard" standing on the top of a little tree in the Wadi as I fought it. It's actually using it's poison attack when I took the picture. Looks like the lizard was meant to be in the tree. :)

Lefien, as per your request, here are a few screen shot links from my underwater "adventure" hehe. I lightened the gamma up a bit cause they were a bit dark on my other PC's monitor.

1. Swimming with the fishes (fish school of left)

2. What we look like from a fish's perspective

3. Walking on water

4. The view of a barnicle

The only ones I've seen are things getting stuck in trees or ending up at the top of trees (it's usually grapplers for the latter) and seeing the inside of baddies. And also sometimes when I use my crossbow I end up holding out my greatsword or sword and pointing it at the enemy instead of the crossbow. Which makes for a good screenshot.

I've seen a few funny things involving my wyvern.

First is when you're running a long distance in 3rd person view with the camera right behind you. It gives you an inside glimpse to the Wyvern's head, and there's a little face staring back at you!

Then, when I'm pting with people and I use a WS, my wyvern would start glowing, etc. in preparation for a breath attack. Then, the mob would die before the breath attack took place, so the little glowy lines would be flying into the wyvern. I got lots of questions about that one.

The getting 2x the amount was more than likely some one who feels dumb now, not a glitch. I myself have fallen through the floor in Kazham recently, had to get a GM to teleport me out each time. Group I was in laughed so hard at me, Linkshell didn't even beleive me when I told them lol. The falling off the airship thing would be cool to see but never happened to me before. So far I haven't found many glitches in this game. Nice Pics btw wish I could have been there to see that.

First off, where are pictures stored?

Secondly, I was laughing my *** off today when a glich happened to one of my party members in Kazham. Four of us died fighting a gob (they didn't listen when I told them to run), but I survived. I found someone to raise them and headed back outside. When I got out, one of them was running around and his arms weren't moving. I started to laugh so hard, it was hillarious. Then I noticed that his sword and shield were moving with him, but slightly underground. I laughed so much, I couldn't type for a while.

Anyways, not as funny as falling off the airship. However, I can't find where the pictures are stored! Someone tell me so I can post them.

If you're a beastmaster, sometimes if you send your pet to attack something on a hill, the pathing gets all screwy and they both do this hilarious little dance around each other. They start circling and snapping at each other like rabid dogs.

They didn't, you're just seeing the same textures that are on the outside of the model.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

OK, I installed FFXI to the default path, and therefore have a really long location. Anyway, here is the location of the screenshots on your PC (if default installed).

C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\pub\<yourpcname>\open\ScreenShots\FinalFantasyXI\

Where <yourpcname> seems to be different based on the user cofig or something.

BTW - there is a limit on how many screen shots you can have in here at one time, so you might want to make a batch file that moves them elsewhere if you tend to take many.

the only strange thing that has ever happened to me is one time the darkknight in my pt died and when he got raised, his scythe was stuck to the bottom of his boot.

He would run around and it would stay attached to his foot. it was quite a sight to see. lol

I was fighting this gob somewhere, and since I'm an elf I clearly outranked the poor guy when it comes to heigh. But since he wanted it to be an equal fight he decided to climb the nearest hill and fight from there, eye to eye :P

I seen the deck one and wyren one too ^^
Although I was stuck under the deck in Windhurst Water.
Had a japanese guy climbed into the boat at Selbina near the beach, was funny seeing him panic too ^^
But the favourite bug has to be the climbing bug. It's a good way to avoid death when you are soloing, good think they fixed the bug though ^^;

I've fallen through the decks in Kazham twice now. Once I was running around checking out the place for the first time and I just suddenly fell through the deck. I went there with one other person, and he didn't believe me until he came and saw me. Had to call a GM.

Second time I was following the monkey that travels all around the village. I was semi-afk so I did autofollow. I sat down relaxing a minute while watching my char and suddenly..POOF I was under the deck yet again. GM time again.

I saw someone fall into the ocean off the deck at the fishing guild in Windurst.

I've seen the double eyes thing on mine and other peoples chars. And the insides of the giants..is just..green. They've fallen on me so many times.

I zoned once, and died. Full HP. Just died. Nothing chasing or attacking me. You know when in a party and someone in your PT zones to your zone. Their HP is red 0 and then health goes up. Well, they said they seen it like usual, but my hp didnt go up. It was in a town too. I looked at my xp and didnt see that i lost any xp, none that i could tell anyway, not like I new the exact amount i had. No worries, a bunch of whm were in the town, they came to laughing asking wtf. Got a raise.

A few days ago I warped out of a battle (more like an *** kicking after stupidly standing somwhere I shouldn't have and getting dumped though a trap door) and the mob got off a final hit that dropped me to zero hp. I had set my HP at the door of my mog house and as I appeared I pushed the stick up toward the door (behind my character) When I appeared I instantly zoned into my mog house and when I came out the other side I had full hp and didn't die.
