I find it hard to role-play in games such as these. That is to say, games that are more equipment & spell book driven than actual character driven.
As much as I dislike Star Wars Galaixes, it was an excellent game for role-playing. Equipment meant next to nothing, so you find more people that play less concerened with being uber and more concerend with how their character does things and acts and why.
Anyway I'm saying this just to sort of show that I understand how hard it is to find people to RP with and hopefully a little insight as to why. Equipment based games attract more people concerened with numbers tahn characters.
DAoC was an excelletn game for RP'ing as well. I'm just not the type that likes to stay in character at all times of playing so I guess I don't stick to them long. And most RPers are far too hardcore for me to keep up with ;).
Not trying to say you won't find people that are RP'ing, but this game from what I've seen doesn't exactly have a lot of lore behind it either. We have generalized ideas about races, and a general history of hte past but not much more to work with. Personally when I do role play I use political, living conditions, racial tendencies, and distaste/trust between others as a means to develop my character.
Haven't even contemplated that in here.
Good luck :). Maybe I'll find some people on Fairy that are down with RP'ing to some degree and change my tune. But EQ was rare as well (even on the RP servers :( ).
