Haha, so far on Garuda I remember seeing Gynecologist. I've had a couple people ask me about my name... it's british Slang for a person who causes memory errors on someone else's computer

And .. Ainuindale is prolly the Best one yet I've seen...until I see an Iluvatar..

YAY! I win! And the K helps people with pronunciation. If it were a "C" most would probably pronounce it with "Ch" sound like in "Charles" Bah! What little they know of the pronunciation of Quenya and Sindarin!

Oh yeah, I remember another one I saw on Garuda...

TaruTaruofDoom (Taru) - I can't say anything bad, this guy ressed me when I got stomped on by a dhamel, lol. I just love that name! (Any invader zim should get the joke)

:D!!

I just read through this and saw that someone from Midgardsormr has seen Pants and Shirt! (I'm Shoes, and they're friends from out of game.)

Heh... We just now bought a new linkshell (much better than the ugly green one you probably saw) and named it FashionPolice....

Heh.. Small world.

I've seen a Galka named Boogerface and a Hume female named AllyMcbeal. The latter of the two made me anxious for PvP!

I guess you all won't like my name very much. I'm Redheadstepchild. If you walk up to me and /slap me, you won't be the first!

I'm on Midgardsormr, and some of the ones I've seen have already been posted. However, here are a few more. For medicine names, I've seen Nyquil. A lot of the Mithras I've seen have cat-related names - Mskitty, Mikameow, etc., which are OK, I guess. As for Galka names, I've seen (and partied with) Cruelbobcat (right in step with the modernized Galka naming system). Any Galka that goes for a cool name like that is OK in my book (with the exception of Chickenfart, of course). Anyone who gives a character an offensive name, particularly the sexually explicit ones, deserves to have his/her POL account deleted. Square Enix needs to wise up and put a stop to this.

By the way, what's with the "Azn-" prefix on so many names? What does that refer to? Arizona? I'm a bit behind on slang, I guess.

Azn = Asian. Usually anyone who uses "azn" in a non-facetious manner is still in high-school. Makes them easy to spot and avoid, I guess.

Umm... it's actually kinda funny. Cuddlywuddly is NOT my first choice for a name. I was origionally going to be ShortRound but the name was taken! O_o; It turned out to be a good thing as I'm much more in character than I ever would have been under any other name. Also! Due to my being Cuddlywuddly, I've since seen a Cutesywutsey and a Sparklywarkly and I'm told there's now a cuddlywuddly on at least one other server who is NOT MEE! eek!

As far as good/bad names I've seen alot in either direction. I think I've seen about EVERY possible spelling for a certain archer from lord of the rings, Tarutaru WHM / BLM pair named Good Hobbit and Evil Hobbit, and I've also seen the following gems:

Ghonnoria
Assmaster17 (There's 16 other assmasters?!)
Mule (I wonder what this is?)
lhggvbsd (Not sure on this spelling, but it was as if they just mashed the kb)

On Garuda I've seen a couple of dumb FF names like:

Slimshady
Mornigbreeze (hello typo)

There's also this couple I can't remember their names, but they drive everyone nuts with spammed lovey dovey emotes and kisses. A LS member recently saw two more named Husband and Wife.

We also have Ieatnoodle and Ieatricecake, but I kinda like that for some reason lol.

Someone playing FFXI on a NA client sees only PC names with Latin letters -- but what do those playing on a Japanese client see? Can Japanese players give their characters names with Japanese characters, or do they have to give their characters names with only Latin letters as well? If Japanese players can give their characters names with Japanese letters, from where do the names seen by NA players come?

I have often wondered this..
I think though that it's all in the bloody Roman letters.... cause I'm thinkin alot of those Japanese Pictograms and whatnot couldn't translate into the names that we Westerners see on the screen..

Unless. they get to make themselves 2 user names.. one for the Japanese version.. and one for English.. unlikely though methinks

But I f I were Japanese I'd get pissed having to conform to damn Western Roman letters all the damn time.... I'd be like.. So Waht if those damn Anglish can't read my name.. I'm Japanese dammit!! lol

The JP players still have to use English character names, I believe.

I've seen some a taru named Tattoo (Fantasy Island anyone? hehe), and two paired together named Oompa and Loompa. Plus a few more I can't remember right now, but those three made me laugh and I remember them the most :)

On the fairy server.

Sorry! It was something abbreviated horribly like a crappy vanity liscense plate for a car (AssMastrSvnTn or something like it..) And I didn't know his name was supposed to be *** Master 17 until I asked him O.O

He ignored my several followup questions of "Whyyyyy?" and the like.

I name you Thread Starter Supreme!!! All of your threads seem to really take off.. Kudos

Heh, thanks. ^^; I'm glad to start some good conversation.

Ah, yes Morrigan. Though, I intentionally changed the spelling ever so slighty. All my usernames have always been named after Goddesses or some mythological character. Usually pertaining to war. ^^; My UN for the Ragnorak Beta was 'Harpalyce', a Greek huntress who preyed upon peasants. XD; That almost became my Final Fantasy name.

I love the Tolkien names too, btw. =D

Nordic Mythology for me. Sigmund, son of Volsung.
I went for Sigfried in the interests of becoming a Pally, but that didn't work.

I've seen Diarrhea running from place to place rather frequently, and the linkshell owner (although about 8 people helped pay for it) of my LS is named Verb. Naturally, the LS' name is Noun.

Then I saw my idol. A lv.70 DRG in artifact armor named Karsh. I almost died when I saw him. Snapped two or three quick screens to cherish forever. (To understand this, look at my name and my job.)
