On Alexander:

* 2 taru "leftnut" and "rightnut" seen in pt together
* a male hume named "jerk"
* A female hume "moron" which was SO funny coz she acted like
the
definition of her name: she stole our party a mob and then
died from it rofl

BUT my favorite of all times, and maybe I'm strange but I
laughed for 10 mins at it and still laugh when I think
about it was a guy seen at AH in windurst named:

"asdf"

I use Subzero, and in the beginning there was a guy who used to yell at me because my name wasn't "fantasy" enough for his tastes. Luckily I haven't seen him around in a while. I might not be very original, but at least I am consistent. I'm S.SubZero in EVERYTHING. You should have seen me fuming cuz I couldn't use it here.

I saw a Galka named Hulkamania, I thought that was pretty funny.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa (a taru seen in San d'oria)
Iwannadoyomamma
Gandalfthewhite (VERY unoriginal, but gets mild props for actually playing a mage)
Tarumolester

That's all I've got for now. Will add more if I see them. LOL

I usually try to steer clear of people with stupid names, because from my experiences in EQ and FFXI, 99% of the time a stupid name equals a stupid player.

While I destest names that are offensive, sometimes the stupid names add some spice to the game. :D Yesterday I saw a japanese taru with "Iloveyou." I think it is pretty cheesy, but kinda cute on some level too. Also, the one that sticks with me the most is this hume (I think)named "Enormousfoliage." Just my two favoriate wierd names. . .

Best, Lore

Let me detract a from What were you thinking in the tone of the games being stupid and focus more on names that I thought that, but then enjoyed seeing it. :p

First off, let's focus on Mithra.

Babysealclubber
Lickit
Molested

:D A little funny, I've also see a Taru named Midgetpowa...but

As amusing those are, the best is...

Batman (Hume Dark Knight)

Naturalhealer (whm)

My character's name is Brak, I've been looking for Spaceghost, Moltar, or Zorak to show up and hang out with Smiley: grin

lol, I made a best names you seen thread, but that got overwritten...

I've seen AWESOME names...

Matoya - a Galka BLM

Spoony - a NINJA/BARD, singing bards.

Zalbag

Beoulve

Gafgarion, etc.

I too have seen Hiroshima on a Bismarck server... but it's a JAPANESE PLAYER!

From what I can tell with japanese and strange names is, is that in Japan american culture is idolized and turned into english, such as Coca Cola's slogan being "I feel coke." It's like... yep, they have no clue what that means but they can pronounce it and thinks it sounds cool.

Much like us in america with our Kanji Fetish now with things that say like "Up, Down, Angel, Suicide, Cow, & Herpes." Yes, I've seen a Kanji shirt that said Herpes, and the dude didn't even know it he just thought it looked cool.

That's why you get names like Microsoft, Syphillis, Claritin, etc.

Any named related to Sephiroth makes me want to find the 13 year old brat that is using it and punch him square in the face.

Seriously...whatever happened to originality?

I actually ran into a kid named Sephiros that SWORE he had never played Final Fantasy VII.

Then I ran into a kid named Vash that swore he had never seen Trigun. He was grouped with a friend named Wolfwood.

I actually think that hilarious. XD

Names like that I don't mind, they give me a laugh. It's the characters that are only used as merchants that must have some of the funniest or most ridiculous names.

Example:

-Isellfood
-Raaaaaaaaaaaaa
-tghhugtuhgighiu (Something to that effect. I assumed he slammed his head on the keyboard a few times)

Didn't really see offensive nicks, but some funny ones :
You : had the same results as the "Him" nickname, except it was really confusing to fight near him "You hits the XXX for X damage" , or "XXX hits You for X damage" ^.^ ; or "You examines you".
Another due to the absence of "l" in the japanese language : "Gradiator" :D
