Samurai/Thief questionsFollow

I have every intention of hitting 30 with my Thief/Monk Mithra and picking up the Samurai swithching Thief to my subjob. I planned on it from the beginning (in spite of rumors that Samurai are horrible in comparison to other melee classes) because I enjoy playing more of an underdog character with roleplaying aspects thrown in.

So my question isn't whether or not I should be a Samurai/Thief, but rather if anyone who is already a Samurai/Thief can fill me in on how well they like the job.

I too wish to try a Samurai Mithra, and I'm getting my War/Theif to level 30 to do the quest. Now I don't know a whole lot about the game, but Samurai is an excellent class. It is mainly used as a subjob for high level chars, but I've seen successful career samurais around.

Between Meditate and their two boosts to gaining tp, a level 60 character with a samurai support with multiple hit weapons skills, like pentathrust, can do some real damage.

It never hurts to try the samurai out. If you really don't like him, you can always change classes later. It is worth getting to level 30 to have ready for subjobs for other physical classes, such as dragoons.

Hope this helps a bit. The typical Samurai has warrior for a subjob, mainly due to the strength bonus and to the back up tanking ability with provoke. Plus they can use polearms over Great Katanas because of pentathrust.

I was a Mithran Samurai/Thief for 23 levels.

Hmmm...where to begin. My problem with being a SAM/THF was I felt that in a party I was easily replaced. Parties would much rather have someone that could control hate if they are melee.

I'm more than sure if you have tried to join a party as your thf you've had to wait around for a bit before you get an invite. It'll end up being the very similar for you as a samurai/thief.

But if that is what you have your heart set on by all means go ahead. I wish you luck.

I turned bard =^^=
