Moghouse and storageFollow

#1 Jan 04 2004 at 8:26 PM Rating: Decent
Hello everybody,

I just have a minor question. In my mog house I got this option for storage. Problem is I cannot use it for some odd reason. Must I do something to unlock the extra storage in my mog house? I don't have anything in my house so maybe I need an item like a storage case or something?

You need to have furniture in your house to act as storage.

BUT

Right now furinture takes up one spot in your mog safe and only gives you one spot of storage.

So I would really have 51/50 now instead of 50/50?

You would still have 50 spaces in your mogsafe unless you do a quest to increase it's size.

The deal with storage at the moment is you put a piece of furniture in your safe (which takes up a space in your safe) and put it in the layout of your moghouse, you then can use the storage option. For each piece of furniture you have laying around your house you have 1 space storage. So basically you lose a space of mogsafe and gain a space of storage, so they cancel eachother out.

But you do get to decorate your moghouse and make your mog happy. :)

What is the best furniture to purchase strickly for space?

The best furniture is whatever's cheapest. All furniture only has one storage slot (right now anyway), so if you're going to have furniture, the 'best' is the least costly.

Yep - I was very disappointed to find my new 5K gil chest had exactly one storage slot. It went back the AH that day.....

I just started playing a few days ago.. and I am having an awful time trying to place furnishings. Have not found any posts about this so I must be doing something dumb here (still getting used to this UI).

I got the Ancient Blood (painting) and would love to hang it on my wall. I tried putting it in my Mog safe, then going to Layout and from there I just can't figure out what to do.

Can anyone please explain.. am I missing a step?

Put it in your Safe, then go to Layout and there should be another Layout option or it should automatically go to it, you may have to hit the confirm button (Enter) to get the menu to come up. At anyrate it should bring up a menu with the furnishings in your mog safe, then select the furnishing and it will allow you to place it. In the case of the Ancient Blood, being a painting, you will only be able to place it on one of the wall panels.

The only use for furnishing is some quests with your moogle, gardening, and I have heard rumors that certian pieces will improve craftskills done in your room, such as a tea set for cooking. I know there is a furnishing that talks about alchemy, and a work bench that might help with pretty much any or all.

Furnishings do not give you extra space in your mog house! You lose one slot of Safe for one slot of Storage. Storage is not accessable from any Rent-A-Room.

They instituted Storage soley for the benefit of people who wanted a decorated mog house but didn't have the space for it. Now they have a decorated mog house and a place to put junk they don't really need much access to, because they can't access it outside of their own home city.

So, what is the quest to gain more storage space?

Thank you so much for explaining that it was driving me insane! I did just need to get to that second layout option (by hitting enter) *blush*

clicky clicky. The Gobbiebag quests increase normal inventory (20~50k in items per 5 slots), the Moogle quests increase your Mog Storage.

I currently am using a "Chest of Drawers" (I believe, I will verify when I go home) that adds, are you all ready, TWO slots to storage, ultimately giving you 1 more space! So I don't think _all_ of the furniture now give you one space. Yeah, the Chest does (I was another who bought it, and sold it the same day ^^). Personally, I don't think it was worth it (thinking about selling it back) but who knows... Perhaps they'll be adding more at the next expansion...

This mog house expansion has been very frustrating to me. I live in San d'Oria and purchased a bronze bed probably about a good month ago now. When I check my fame level in San d'Oria, the response is "You have become famous! All the people know of you" yet week after week, I still don't get issued the mog house quest by the moogle. I don't know an exact count of quests I have done in San d'Oria but I counted at the time I bought the bed and placed it, and even at that time, it was 37. It's probably close to 50 now. I have done 17 quests in Windhurst, several more in Bastok, several in Jeuno, a bunch in Selbina, and am Rank 4. Why am I not getting the moogle quest?

*Desperately needing more space in my mog house*

Oh, and wanted to add - Xeep, I did the same thing. Now that I've got to have 3 sets of armor/weapons - one for my MNK, one for my THF, and one for my RNG - I'm desperate for space and purchased Armor Box as I had heard what turned out to be false rumors that it added 5 spots to Storage. It only added one and is currently up for auction in San d'Oria lol

P.S. Sorry if there was a way to edit and add this to my previous post, but I didn't see where to do this.

Mog House functions have been expanded with the addition of the "Storage" menu item. Furniture placed in your Mog House using the Layout command gives you access to extra storage space separate from your Mog Safe, accessible though the Storage menu. The new text command is "/storage". Using this command outside of your Mog House allows you to see what items you have in Storage.
The Storage menu is handled in exactly the same way as the Mog Safe, but items stored in furniture can only be accessed from your Mog House.
The Storage menu is unavailable at Rent-a-Rooms and when using the Nomad Moogle service.

You tell me where in there it says one space per-item, or give me a link that does.

It's not false, I would've sold the piece back if it only provided one slot. I will take a screen shot as soon as I get back to San Doria (in Bastok right now) to prove this isn't false info.
