As the subject says ads are cutting into portions of quest information. I can't seem to move them around. I even clicked on some to get them out of the way but it's not helping. Any ideas?

I could actually see Zam (any content provider, really) getting to the point that you had to click on ads to view page text. Just now, when I mistakenly visited here on Internet Explorer, it popped a new tab with an autorun video for Warcraft Legion. Anyway, back to Firefox and adblock.

subbing premium kills the ads too.

I'm probably supposed to suggest that...

I would sub premium if Zam were to give assurances this content will be preserved, even in this marginalized form. I honestly don't think I could continue playing EQ if eq.zam shut the doors. But zam's recent changes and current direction give zero confidence that this site will be here even next month.

As a volunteer hoping my efforts don't go to waste (with a sudden unplugging of the site) I totally get what you are saying.

The way the powers that be have handled the volunteer admn team in the last 2 months suggest very strongly to me that Zam is committed to keeping the EQ side up and running. They have done behind the scenes programming work to keep things going. They have specifically outreached to us to say "we appreciate what you are doing, you are supported". They "saved" the old sites, particularly EQ with the legacy tag in the url when they shifted over to their new format. We're kind of like the collection of old records in the attic now. We belonged to grandpa, so they aren't going to throw us out.

Updating progress on the site really depends on the time the volunteer admns have in any given timeframe. We aren't going to replace Railus, Fleven, and Cyliena who put way more hours into this a week as paid staff. What we can do is try to keep the dust off their legacy.

Ironically, there are still premium subs out there which basically compel them to let us have this little playground as it isn't costing them much to keep it up. If everyone unsubs... then we are only appealing to management's nostalgia (and that's assuming Allakhazam history and EQ mean something to them) rather than providing an easy argument for accounting to say leave us be. Further, the ad aspect relates directly to traffic. EQ side of the old sites is likely the busiest, but not exactly the bustling place it once was. This in no way excuses the ad issues of late with ads messing up the site for non premium users.

Please see the related thread in site feedback and hopefully put in your concerns about the ads.
