When on April Fool's day EQ made our characters Red Lines?
You're talking to me all wrong... It's the wrong tone. You do it again and I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron.
Pranking players in the form of possible bugs is bad form, IMO, given the occasional occurrences of real bugs. I'm sure they could have a bellyful of laughs in the DBG offices by setting up phony warning messages for players as they log in informing that their password has changed or that their account has been suspended for unstated reasons.
But it would be, <ahem>, very ill-advised.
Heck, it annoyed me a bunch not too long ago when they changed something about how gamma settings are controlled in windowed mode and since I forgot to update a window in my custom UI my screens were unnaturally dark and I had no way to lighten them from within the game other than switching from windowed to full-screen mode. Was quite inconvenient until I realized my mistake not updating for the patch's new windows.

As I remember...It has been done more than once. I enjoyed the prank both times, and if I remember correctly there is now code that you can input to do it to yourself ;-)
