Question about Site InformationFollow

Is there any mechanism to update the information on this site? A lot of it is really useful, but a lot of it is incomplete and out of date. I know I have a lot of stuff I could update, but I don't see a way I can add say, a drop to a mob for example. Is there anything like that? Be it some automated tool I can download that runs off of the logs, or a manual tool I could use to submit new information?

Yes, there is the "Item Collector" which uploads item info from in game, to this sites "Lucy" database. The home page of this site (ZAM-Everquest) has a link to download it. (right side column near the top).

Good luck.

Hexeez is correct about Lucy (the item collector).

As well, it's actually really helpful when people post current happenings on the individual pages on a given item, npc, quest and so on. That works just like posting a thread here in general discussion. Often you'll be posting the same thing someone did/posted in Kunark era but it sure is nice to see a post from the last few years that verifies that something still exists in the game.

Some of us have made it a game/quest over the years to do things like update as many quests as we can from a particular starter city or zone. The other thing is some old zones have very incomplete information. For example Sleeper's Tomb used to be locked out to most players and has been changed a bit... I was fooling around in there a while back and posting the first comment for things that had been known for ages... in particular drops that looked like they only came from one npc but were actually multiple in the zone.

short version: please post stuff under the threads when you see/loot/do it.

Good advice. I do this all the time, both for "philanthropic" and selfish reasons. Selfish because if I make some manual notes about a zone or a mob or a quest and set it aside somewhere "safe" when I need to review my notes again maybe months later I usually can't find them. If I post them here, I can always find them, and maybe someone else has added additional helpful info! Smiley: grin
