Something I didn't knowFollow

Well, it was bound to happen. I ran across something I didn't know (yeah, shocking, I know!). For those thinking "You know nothing, gbaji", in this case it was something in game and related to the Paladin class. So I figured if I'd somehow missed figuring this out, maybe others have as well (or there are other class related less well known things folks might want to talk about). So here goes!

Actually read this on the Sony site last week. Had never occurred to me, and I never noticed it (wasn't looking). Apparently, when you use a fade ability, it also turns you invisible. You get the parenthesis around your name, but there is no buff. Tested it out, and sure enough, the paladin AA "balefire burst" does this. Not sure how long you stay invis though. I know it only lasts until you zone, but not sure if it'll fade at some time period, whether it counts as "improved/perfected" or what. The lack of spell buff makes it hard to know for sure. But in any case, it works. Only against live mobs though.

Can't imagine how many cloudy potions I've spent because I didn't know this. Not that 10pp a pop is a huge deal or anything, but it's always been one of those things that I'll actually weigh when making choices about turnins or re-upping killl tasks (cause of the whole "must drop invis" to get tasks thing). Oh. And I also think this invis doesn't prevent talking to npcs either. Not 100% on that though. Also, reasonably certain I was able to summon my mount and not lose the ability. Also need to double check that though. In any case, quite neat!

Anyone else have some unusual and perhaps less well know bits of class info they want to share?

Evade.

Mostly useful for rogues. What it is is a macro setup which is:

/autoattack off
/doability #
/doability #
/autoattack on

The abilities for rogue are usually pickpocket followed by hide (to drop some agro).

This works well with other classes though. On a foraging class/race make the first ability forage. On any class make the first one begging.

The variations are many and the setup saves you from having to manually turn off/on attack to work on skilling up lots of different things.

I've been playing since Ykesha and just discovered this...last month. Smiley: facepalm

Friar, if you lead the commands with a slight pause it will allow for different lags, i.e. server or zone laggy-ness (is that a word?), making lag failures on your macro less often.
line 1= /pause 5, /autoattack off
line 2= /pause 5, /doability #
line 3= /pause 5, /doability #
Line 4= /autoattack on

in this macro the /pause 5 written in before the action actually happens after the line action but before the next line. You won't need a /pause on your last action.

That's good advice. I'm lucky in that I have pretty good interwebz speeds so I skip the pauses.
